Several years ago, I bought this for my two cats. The one cat LOVED it. The other never did. The one who loved it stayed with me while I set it up. I had the One Fast Cat tutorial on the TV to guide me through the set up. After I got it together, I watched the training tutorial. I didn't realize it, but my cat was sitting at my feet and watched the entire tutorial on the TV with me. Next day, I got a cat toy and some treats and my cat who watched the tutorial and I put him on the wheel. As I fumbled trying to decide which bribe would seduce him more and try to get my thoughts together on how to train him, he just started walking and then running on it! He never ran on it for more than 5 minutes at a time, but he ran on it all throughout the day and sometimes I would hear him on it at 4:00 AM. He loved that thing for 7 years until...😢 We all laughed at the fact that he was self-taught because he watched the tutorial. That wheel is worth every penny if your cat uses it.

Sorry, but you’re kind of doing everything wrong. 1. Look first to the cats’ diet. As with humans, they can’t exercise away a bad diet. 2. Catnip is not a motivator. 3. Hold the cat toy in front of them, not up over their heads. No wonder they are confused. 4. Move the wheel out away from the wall so they can enter/exit either side. The instructions probably mention this. 5. Stop making your weird cat-baby-voice every time they do something right. It actually distracts them. And remove other distractions (i.e., the dogs). Just be calm and quiet and hold the toy near the wheel a few inches in front of them where their next step should be.

We just got this for our cats this Christmas. I used the laser pointer and my male cat took to the wheel instantly. My female cat is 17 and has arthritis in her back legs. I hold her belly, and spin the wheel so she can walk and feel secure. It took two days for my male cat to use the wheel on his own. I hear it going at all hours, but he walks (doesn't run) and it sounds like a fan.

We just got this for our cats this Christmas. I used the dot pointer and my male cat took to it instantly, because he was i interested in the red dot. I had to walk my other cat. As she was on the wheel, I sat and spun the wheels so she was forced to walk. She gets it, but is much older and needs help. My other cat chases the pointer, but has started walking on his own.

I should have a yard sale of all the stuff I bought for my cat that it won't touch. Including several scratch poles as it just loves that sofa. Even food she likes so I buy more and then she doesn't like it any more. I also want to try one of these but...

If they really care about their cats they shoukd buy a cat-lead and walk with them for 20+ minutes a day OUTSIDE in the relatively fresh air. It's an absurd excuse to say the cats would 'get eaten' if they go outside.

My Ragdoll is the laziest kitty ever! The only thing I can get her to play with anymore are balls, granted she’s 11 but still full of vitality. She would sniff it all over then walk away with disdain, preferring the box it came in just like yours 😂

I wish to comment. My cat got fat and lazy and onset diabetes. The vet told me to add some moist food with my dry food. That was amazing. My cat lost weight rather quickly. He never gained it back and It prevented him from going into full diabetes. If you think about it. Dry food is carbs and that is why animals and people gain weight.

Seeing the fur babies enjoying the “free “ box reminds me of buying $10 worth of “toys “ for my kittens long ago. As cats do, and why I love them, they ignored the toys and batted the crumpled sales receipt around until they tired themselves out. Don’t ya just love cats!!! Oh, later , my White GS figured the stuffed toys were his and… yep…they were gone in a matter of minutes while the receipt still lived!!

They never show the fact that they have to use a laser in the ads. I have only seen big wild cats actually use these things. At least they enjoyed the box.

I got all excited when I heard Whidbey Island. I had friends that lived there for years. I have some wonderful wildlife memories from there.

I wonder if there would be a way to mount a laser pointer aimed about halfway up the curve and would wiggle a little as the cat tries to move towards it. That might just do the trick.

cats/dogs are carnivores. You want them to not be "chonky", then don't feed them foods that have ingredients other than meat/fat in them. No milk, no cream, no chemicals, etc etc. It will keep them healthier and they'll live MUCH longer as well. They only get fat because we treat their food like we treat our own, and look what that's done to people.

Cat's do not perform on demand....ever. If you want them to try it, leave them alone and eventually curiosity will do the rest.

Animals understand every word you say so........... think before speaking.
