From my experience using it for a few days, it's fine to game off of BUT your download speed struggles so much. I've done tests both on Wi-Fi and Ethernet and I'm getting 30mbps on Wi-Fi and 50mbps on Ethernet. Meanwhile, my old Wi-Fi is getting 208 mbps while only lagging 10mbps behind the All-Fi in upload so it's not really worth it, especially for games that update a lot. I'm in West Hollywood

AT&T forced my mother-in-law to upgrade to this thing. I installed it for her. After trying every corner, the only place in the entire house that would get a strong signal was an inconvenient place in a back room high up on a stack of boxes. No real biggy. My laptop, hers, our phones, all showed a strong signal. But they wouldn't connect to the internet. Called customer service, the wait was 45 minutes. They tried a bunch of things and gave up. Said to wait a day so maybe the system will get used it. I said what? OK, whatever. Couldn't go back to her place until today. Plenty of time for the "system to get used to it". Of course it still didn't work. Called customer service. There was a long wait, they gave me the option to call me back in 1 to 1.5 hours. I didn't have to the time to wait. Tried chat, they're essentially useless. Going back again tomorrow when her free 7 day trial ends. Gonna give it one more try. I have the time to wait one hour for them to call me back. If this fails I'm getting her T-Mobile internet. More than the PIA that this has been, I'm very displeased with AT&T customer service.

I am staying far away from any home 5G home internet. I want Fiber optic internet and if I can't get that then I'll just stay with what I have which is DSL from AT&T until they kick me off of their DSL internet service. From different people I've spoken with it comes across like they don't when they will upgrade in my area. Which sucks for me. I don't understand how there can be so many different internet services around the United States and yet there so far and few services available to many people.

I think they're discovering that rural places are cheaper to install a 5G on an existing tower than it is to update miles and miles of 50yo+ copper wire. In the cities, though, Fiber is where it's at. I wish I could get fiber where I love.
@JimGEDDIS3000
@JimGEDDIS3000 11 күн бұрын
@ConsumerTechJoe I was told by an AT&T Representative that anywhere they might have a hard time rolling out fiber then 5G is there plan. I read that the AT&T plan is to retire all DSL / copper lines with in the next five years or so. Crazy when 5G first was being talked about and how fast it's supposed to be, yet 5G can't handle a lot of congestion on it, so it makes no sense why theses companies want to push 5G home internet, when there's more cons then pros to it, but who knows maybe in the future that will improve over time that is.

@@ConsumerTechJoe I have a fiber line 3/4th of a mile from my home and my ISP has run it to every single road surrounding me but refuse to run it down my road to finish the circuit unless I pay them $14,000 to run the line. I'm stuck using their WiMAXX service attached to the AT&T tower on the corner direct line of site and they're charging me $114.95 a month for 50Mbs down 10Mbs up and I just last night got the alert from AT&T that I can get this air service for $47 a month. My worry is if I switch how consistent the connection is because while my current ISP screws me on upload, I'm still able to stream to twitch at 1080p and I have no actual frame of reference on how good ATT would be for me as someone who is gaming on it and streaming the gameplay while someones is also watching 4K tv in the other room.

I tried T-Mobile 5G Home Internet (previous model, black gateway) last year during a free trial period, and sent it back the next day, as the upload/download speeds were all over the freaking place. The very first connection was 160 up and 60 down, and sometimes dropped into the single digit megabits, and even dropping into the kilobits, and then not showing any speed at all. T-Mobile had claimed that I did not return the gateway (and was charging me for the full price of that), which I had tracking number proof that it had been returned, and then some collection agency badgered/pestered me about it, and I told them that the gateway was sent back, showed them the tracking number proof, and then got a statement in the mail from T-mobile showing $0.00 balance due. YAY! Signed up with the basic Verizon 5G Home Internet (sugar cube gateway model) service, and consistantly get 100-104 mbps download and 10-12 mbps upload, Suits my specific needs. More-than-happy with it so far with its reliability/stability after using it for one full year.

I have AT&T DSL currently and even though I just logged into my AT&T app yesterday and double check the Internet service, I see Internet Air is available again and I was like this is the worst idea due to some basic research i have done. I mean I have read mix reviews online. I would really like fiber optic internet though as I know it's faster than 5G home internet. But an AT&T customer service representative told me in areas that 5G home internet is available then Fiber optic internet won't be available, which makes no sense to me at all logically thinking. This Representative even told me they are told to convince elderly customers into switching from DSL to Internet Air, i couldn't believe I heard that it that is even true.. i was like that's just wrong. If internet air works for yours and other needs great, but if i am forced into switching internet then I'll bite my own words and go back to cable which in my situation isn't even faster than DSL i have. 🤦

@JJFlores197 Ай бұрын
Yeah. AT&T is doing everything they can to abandon their archaic POTS/DSL system. They will either upgrade certain markets to fiber OR sell Internet Air instead of upgrading to fiber. Installing fiber is extremely expensive and labor intensive. And as all business owners know, you want to reduce your expenses while making as much profit as possible. And I agree with what you're saying. I live in a town of about 70k people In NorCal. Some neighborhoods got upgraded to fiber, but where I live, it doesn't look like AT&T is interested in modernizing our neighborhood. Luckily we got a fiber ISP about 2 years ago and they finally installed fiber in our area about 6-7 months ago and I switched to it as soon as it was available.

I've been using an MX since 1994. It's not perfect. But it's a great camera with a lot of soul. I hope you've sorted the issues out. I'd advise anyone new to start with the cheapest film and processing. Because these mistakes are likely going to happen. Also, it's really good to have a dummy roll of film - something that you know is ruined while still in the camera. You can use it to test the film transport to make sure you've got the process figured out or to diagnose problems with the mechanism (if you want to rewind the film but leave the leader out, you just listen closely to the back as you rewind. You'll hear the click as the film comes free of the takeup spool and you'll also feel a difference in pressure on the rewind crank).
