How are you looking at gearing? Is heavy armor worth it despite the low magic resist?

Knowing the minmaxing community of MMORPGs no matter how many options there are - you will see the 4 exact same builds only - meta melee dps, meta range dps, meta healer and meta tank. But I personally love the options (I never played meta, I play the most fun to play classes). Any idea when this game might come out tho?

What I find hilarious is that while the internet was in uproar about what Fallout 76 tried to do monetization-wide, so much of it was copy-pasted from ESO yet it doesn't get any of that noise about it. I find that ESO has gotten too big to fix, ZOS can add all the new content it wants but that won't make the old stuff go away. Not as long as they continue to use it as the foundation for the new stuff, but in their defense making a new foundation suitable for 10 YEARS worth of content would be a tall order for anyone.

The free from PvP till lvl 5 will do nothing but keep streamers safe till 5. Asmon will be attracted as soon as he hits lvl 5. The game structure will run away all large streamers because of this.

The bans are the only thing I question. He would not have banned anyone if it wasn't a huge streamer.

I've pretty much fully given up on keeping up with updates on this game. I've been blueballed for 9 years

THIS IS WHY most games have no pvp in the starter area. or make it a protected area. Some even have super high lvl guards that will one shot anyone that tries to kill someone.

Been looking forward to this game. But if there is no way to avoid or turn off pvp, it will definitely be a hard no for me.

I won't lie I thoroughly enjoyed killing him all three times, Snipe is one hell of a spell. That being said the penalty was losing all of my gear to the corruption system, but I knew if he was allowed to play on the server his cult would ruin it anyhow. I am glad this was followed by some grief protection, unfortunately it won't be enough. As of right now you drop the same amount of loot whether you are killed by someone of your own level, a higher level, a random npc, etc. Ganking and griefing is only a larger net gain to those who enjoy it.. I personally don't, I just don't like Asmond.

i hope they keep the grinding in the way you explain it, POI, rare bosses/mobs spawn in that area, and make it contested. dungeon crawling etc. Original EQ vibes

So you are not gonna mention how ESO literally has tab targeting. Like its action combat, but you can literally TARGET, with the TAB key?

What is even the point of a pvp system that allows griefing if their fix is to just jack up penalities? How about don't include it? This isn't hard . . . (coming from a person who wants the game to succeed but sees how dev decisions are likely to make it fail).

It's really only 8 classes, not 64. Selecting a different second archetype doesn't change the class, it just slightly augments/adds status effects of the existing skills. You're not getting new skills, nor are you changing the core of the existing skills. Steven even said, some combinations will be completely useless.

Just dump the poorly thought out and awkwardly exceuted pvp system. Make an opt-in pvp system with low stakes. There's 100 reasons these devs might be braindead and this in one. Crucially- NO ONE will play thi sgame for pvp. It will only drive people away to create a griefer paradise.

Watched the Asmongold stream and me and my friends decided to skip this game. Looks like a shitshow gankfest. I was willing to turn a blind eye on the scammer CEO but this as well sold us. Nope!

If this game doesn't become a gank fest, hyper elite try hards no lifeing and streamers with thousands of cronies to perform a call to action. The game might be worth looking into when it comes out in 2038.

No rogue on wipe is a pretty bad sign ngl. I see this game having the possibility to change the industry, but man it’s on the developers shoulders in these next 6 months to take the game from *barely* functioning to at least presentable. If you don’t think A2 was a bit of a bait and switch you are coping 100%, but I’m still hopeful for the project. Bugs in an alpha are whatever, but you can’t help but feel like the last year of livestreams were 15 builds ahead of the alpha in a tiny scripted environment to sell alpha packs. I just can’t help but raise an eyebrow. That 2017 interview almost made me uninstall just now tho LMAO

Great video, and really fair criticisms, that interview clip was gold. And while some may say that "it's just an alpha" I do think NOW is the time to give this kind of feedback on the state of the game. Better the devs hear it now than post-release.

More in depth tutorials for new players would be nice. The game has so much to do but it doesn’t really explain any of it. I don’t want to have to watch a beginners video or have another more experienced player hold my hand. I want to learn at my own pace.

I think one of the biggest issues with quests right now is the lack of reward. Something that always made quests interesting was what you'd get at the end. Currently it's pretty much just some xp... So if there's a grind spot that's even comparable then it's the way to go as you'll get loot too. Adding some nice gear upgrades to quests to power up your character will see everyone much more excited to do them.
