My picks would have to be pokemon typing adventure PAL version, never saw an NA release and not many listings of the PAL version. Probably the oddest ds game. My pick for the absolute rarest game(s) would probably be the pokerom mystery disks (such as the charizard pokerom disk), can hardly even find any pictures of them online, let alone a single listing. I would recommend looking into them if you are interested.

Nostalgia is one hell of a drug. I just got into the franchise recently with PLA and SV and I don't see myself playing or caring about any of the old games. If push comes to shove I might use an emulator but no way am I paying for games that look like that 😂

I thought I got a good deal on Facebook marketplace for 15 bucks but 2 days after i payed for it I realised it was fake… I hate the people who buy up all the copies and rise the prices

A little bit of constructive criticism and take it however, you will, I mostly listen to KZbin videos. I don’t really watch. I have premium and mostly listen while I drive in the car. I found this video specifically for the voices to be a little lowso I turned my volume up but then the sound effects like the wash and the pops are pretty loud could just be my car, but I generally don’t have any problems with other videos.

I would have loved an English release of Pokemon Trading Card Game 2 which was Japanese only!

I went to a con a year ago and a retro seller was literally giving out free Japanese stadium cartridges if you purchased a console. Not really rare or expensive but definitely obscure. Love the vid tho!

Language selectors in mainline pokemon games only became a thing in gen 6 and later with same day worldwide releases. Also, if you compare the UK population to the US... well, I'm sure you could figure out why there's less PAL copies ;)

I have a story about B2W2. I bought B2 when it was originally on the market, but not W2. The last couple years, I couldn’t find a cheap-ish copy anywhere until I found one on EBay for like $15. To be fair, that should’ve been a red flag lol. The game was actually Pokémon Volt White 2 (a rom hack). Originally I was sad about it, but I’m actually happy about it now. The game is actually refreshingly challenging and compatible with legit copies of B2W2.

Pokémon Box is probably my most treasured Pokémon related thing. I have dumped so many files on there over the years and seeing the price for it nowadays has me like 😳 I also found Japanese Stadium at an old store for like $20 but I don’t have a Japanese 64 rip. I do have Snap too! Loved that game growing up

I like how even the rarer major games are so common that I can only imagine the price comes from the general retro game-overpricing that people are doing. Even Pocket Monsters Stadium is cheap depending on where you look. If I had to guess without looking it up, the closest is likely JP Blue because it was originally exclusive to a mail-in promotion(That is why special editions are called special editions I'm pretty sure). It did release in retail eventually, but only alongside Yellow of all games. 1:32 It's literally just a seperate game, the game we know was released in japan as "Pocket Monsters Stadium 2". We could call any other unlocalized game the "japanese version" of its internationally released sequel and have that be just as correct, because this is basically that. Granted, they do admittedly share some development history because they did plan to release the rest of the mon-list as a DD expansion, but then decided on the DD's failure that they would rather release a full sequel instead. So anyone loving all the added side-functionality of Stadium/2 can thank Ura Zelda being scrapped, because a system seller expansion may have just made a sequel release redundant.

Im not sure how to categories these but lately ive been collecting the not for resale demo cartridges that you would play at the gaming kiosks back in the day. So far i have gold, silver and crystal not for resales and now im working my way to ruby, sapphire and emerald not for resale copies. Id say theyre pretty rare because you dont find them all too often and we're not technically supposed to own them lol
