I’m so glad this show finally acknowledged that lightsabers do indeed have weight, it was something that was mentioned very briefly here but more expanded on in past books. To use any kind of lightsaber requires the user to be one with the weapon they are using, thus the phrase “you’re fighting against the blade”

Lightsabers have their own emotions, for everyone in the comments. Well something like that Depending on the nature of the blade, especially because the darksaber is a weapon pased off to others, you not only basically have to become compatible or in tune with it, train to be able to use a lightsaber, but you have to keep in tune with it. This is why many sith used synthetic crystals due to them being easier to make and use, and more readily available. This is also why often when someone makes their own lightsaber they dont struggle against it, because their in tune with their crystal as they were the ones who crafted the saber in the first place and have a connection with it. Mandalorians are one of a warrior culture, and this often goes against jedi teachings. The mandalorian who made the darksaber had to have been more peace minded. Ultimately bo katan wanted peace for her people, even pre visla did at one point despite his atrocities. Its probably why maul cast the blade aside, while maul certianly handled it fine, its probably because hes force attuned and more well trained to handle these things, and likely why sabine had an easier time learning to use it as she had a jedi to teach her how to master it. Bo katan seems to have had it for a long period so it could mean shes just simply had much time to practice.
