Do not route that electrical wire thru the engine compartment. It is not heat rated for the temperatures it will encounter there.

Nice video; your boat has many similarities to my Islander 28. I have been on a similar journey...new rewire, new electrical panels, new LED's inside and out, including on the mast, new windows, bilge pump and float switch, new batteries and battery monitor, new electronics, lots of varnish. Had new sails made. Many projects yet to complete. Whereabouts are you located?

Hello. First, I did nothing to the head except paint. Ive decided should the motor poop out I will pull it again and rebuild the guts and of course replace the head gasket. But for now, shes purring along just fine. Second, I considered electric, but because Im not an electric guy, more mechanical, so Im sticking to the basics and its all working good so far after 2.5 years. Thanks!

Thanks for the good comment, as usual! I really like the Navionics app. I understand there is a free version, but so that I could have full access to the various features, I went ahead and signed up for the big kahuna. It does work quite well in sun, but I do have a bimini so I was looking at it in that shade when I went out with it. The down side is that you can't see the screen with polarized sunglasses, so I have to switch from sunglasses to regular ones, back and forth.

Hi do you know about the filter oil ?
@SailingLimaCharlie
@SailingLimaCharlie Жыл бұрын
I don't think the A4 comes standard with an oil filter set up. I do know there is a kit to where you could add one, available from Moyer. What I am doing is changing the oil every 18 operating hours and checking that used oil for any concerning sedement that settles at the bottom. So far that way of managing the oil has worked well. I had a similar situation with a VW bug engine that had been converted for use in an aircraft. I used the same method of managing the oil coz there was no oil filter set up there as well.

Hi Kevin.
