Hi Gary, I sharpen my drill bits by hand with a diamond file. If you several bits to sharpen you can get an attachment to the bench grinder.

What you going to build? I do the same stuff at the shop i work at... people think im crazy cuz of recycling pallets...i just build simple projects out of them but sometimes i do get some real nice actual 2x4 pieces out of them
@suburbandiy14 күн бұрын
We’ve dismantled dozens of pallets in the past with specific build projects in mind. These pallets were dismantled just for the material. Meaning, we didn’t have a build project in mind, these pallets were just available at the time.

This video was very helpful. My wife and I fixed our blind, after a so-called professional came to our house, charged us $75 for the house call, and told us the blind could not be repaired. The customer service people at Hunter Douglas were very helpful and courteous. By following the video, it took us less than 2 hours to do the repair.

Don't want to be a wet blanket, but if the handle is rotten, just filling the checks is not going to do much. The wood will still be soft. It might feel OK. but it is not going to be like new wood. You could get a new handle and attach the D handle to that. Of course if you're in AZ it may just be dried out.
@suburbandiy24 күн бұрын
Hi asbestosfiber, correct… they were super dry, not rotten. These short shovels are 2 of 21 tools we recently restored. Some of the 21 had rotten wood, which we replaced. Check out the 21 Shovels video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYrXd4xse5aCatU

Hi Hector, thx for commenting! I’m not an expert, but yea… I only use tap water to flush out the cooling system. I drive it with the antifreeze mix.

Nice work. That looks great. I would be a little concerned about the wood being in the ground that termites will find it but that could be fixed by putting termite poison from the hardware store in the ground near it.

Man.. sorry for the critique but, don't make a KZbin instructing people when you demonstrated your solution did not work. You were on the right track but your logic failed you... before DeWalt did regarding pneumatic dynamics, gauges or fittings. Though DeWalt should have used a standard second REAL regulator and GAUGE, they started this idiocy. I question their cheap-Chinese month-old grad engineers no matter how much they tried to save money on a real regulator. "Penny-wise and pound foolish" but this compressor regulation design spent MORE money trying to SAVE money. IDIOTS! I have no patience for poor quality forcing the customer to rework their bad engineering. The criticism of them is warranted. I hope they read this and take offense.. they deserve all of it.
@mpowersmedia3219Ай бұрын
Just get a cheap manifold with a regulator and replace the whole assembly. That's what I did to a different branded compressor.

Thx MPowerS… on it… researching it now. I’ll report back shortly.

Upgrade to a better air compressor!
@suburbandiyАй бұрын
On it!
@killer2600Ай бұрын
Your pressure regulator valve in fact isn't working, it appears (from a few clips) that you can rotate it more than 360 degrees so it may be out of calibration - notice that the aftermarket regulator and the one on your leak down tester make multiple full turns between no pressure and full pressure setting. Your leak down tester has a pressure regulator at it's input so setting the pressure to 50 psi on the gauge and monitoring it is largely inconclusive.
@suburbandiyАй бұрын
Thx Killer2600… clearly I’m a rookie… appreciate of the learning and comments. The net-net conclusion… soon I’ll be upgrading to a better air compressor.

There's many ways to skin a rabbit as they say. We in the UK also sometimes call them a chillington hoe. I recently wraped hoe end of handle, with innertube rubber to bulk it out. It does allow a bit of flex. but I think it protects the wood. Well done nice to see somebody's saving something rather than throwing it away as we do in this society today.
@suburbandiy2 ай бұрын
Hi Chris… thx for commenting. Totally agree… many ways to approach & execute. Biggest satisfaction is creatively prolonging its useful life, rather than disposing. We have scrap inner tubes… will give that a go on the next one and report back to you. Thx again for sharing!

Hi Gregory, we hand sanded with damp (water) 320 then 600 grit sandpaper. We didn’t rub that hard… we just smoothed out the surface.
