There's many ways to skin a rabbit as they say. We in the UK also sometimes call them a chillington hoe. I recently wraped hoe end of handle, with innertube rubber to bulk it out. It does allow a bit of flex. but I think it protects the wood. Well done nice to see somebody's saving something rather than throwing it away as we do in this society today.

Hi Chris… thx for commenting. Totally agree… many ways to approach & execute. Biggest satisfaction is creatively prolonging its useful life, rather than disposing. We have scrap inner tubes… will give that a go on the next one and report back to you. Thx again for sharing!
