I did almost the same thing for my 129. Anyway when is your part 4 coming?? I gotta figure out how to wire ! Ha. I’m using the starter that came on the engine and I took out all the original electronics. I’m running a loader so I need the alternator for lights and fan to cool my hydraulic radiator. Anyway I’m kind of stuck on wiring the alternator….
@jasonwhitler4167Ай бұрын
Part 4 might be more than a bit late since i brought the cub cadet back to the family farm to use. Wiring on the engine isn’t too difficult. I cheated and got a one wire alternator that just gets hooked up to the positive terminal on the battery. I’d do a tutorial on my wiring but I made things more difficult by using a key switch that’s meant for a tractor with points ignition.

Not bad welding. You need to practice. Look infront of the puddle. Drag towards you. I assume your using a wire feed welder. With stick you want to try and see the puddle by watching behind the rod. Wire is better infront or behind. Good job.

Why do all 560 gassers sound like they have a miss?
@jasonwhitler41677 ай бұрын
Could just be the shape of the exhaust manifold. Some cylinders have a longer distance for the exhaust to travel than others. 1 and 2 are right next to the outlet

I need to make a hitch, it's missing the drive chain, and 1 planter plate and bolt/wing nut to hold the hopper down.the one planter plate has a G stamped on it. What do you do when you get frequent rain showers, cloudy days, and the soil stays wet for weeks? The weeds dont stop growing, and the soil doesnt throw into the sides of the crop row, as yours does here to cover in row weeds.
@jasonwhitler416710 ай бұрын
Worst case we end up borrowing my uncle’s sprayer to knock out the weeds. We’ve only had a few really wet years where we couldn’t get into the field to cultivate. Generally if the soil has some moisture you can still do a good job cleaning up the rows, but as soon as you start seeing soil peeling/curling off the shovels you have to stop.

@jasonwhitler416711 ай бұрын
I’m not sure, but it’s likely you have the same issue with the height of the crankshaft on the predator engine. Plan on modifying your frame to make it work
@timgreen413711 ай бұрын
This tractor must be geared differently than other common makes. The flywheel turns in the opposite direction than those others Also, is this a twin cylinder? It sounds different, and i thought i saw two sets of crank offset weights.
@jasonwhitler416711 ай бұрын
Reeves had enclosed gearboxes on their larger engines with oil baths. If I remember right there’s an intermediate gear between the crank and the wheel. It’s a twin cylinder compound engine, so the exhaust steam from the smaller diameter cylinder is reused by the larger cylinder to extract more energy out of the steam. Thanks for watching!

Too late to the party but take the alternator down to frame rail. If it would work with an electric clutch. May be in the way I'm not sure.

I was trading shifts firing with my friends since it was way too hot outside. There’s a hose that feeds the water tank in the shovel, we would use about half a tank in an hour then turn the water back on to fill the tank. Not sure on how many gallons the tank held
@olivei2484 Жыл бұрын
@@jasonwhitler4167 Ah. I might have this wrong, but if the water tank gets too low and inject colder water into boiler, run the risk of explosion? So filling half way sounds good.
@jasonwhitler4167 Жыл бұрын
@@olivei2484yeah you got it right for water level in the boiler. We were told to run with water most the way up the sight glass on this boiler since the house rotating causes the water to slosh around. The water storage tank sits right next to the boiler, adding cold water to it regularly and keeping it full makes the injectors work better.

Way back when my Dad and Grandfather used to plow vegetation like that they’d put 7 or 8 foot strips of #9 wire on each bottom. It was tied to the cutter and would string over the moldboard and trail into the furrow under the dirt to keep it taught holding down and folding the tall vegetation so it all covered.
