Are you running the coal shovel on the fire box? How much water and about how long can she run between fill-ups? Too much fun! Need a steam powered dump truck.

I was trading shifts firing with my friends since it was way too hot outside. There’s a hose that feeds the water tank in the shovel, we would use about half a tank in an hour then turn the water back on to fill the tank. Not sure on how many gallons the tank held

@@jasonwhitler4167 Ah. I might have this wrong, but if the water tank gets too low and inject colder water into boiler, run the risk of explosion? So filling half way sounds good.

@@olivei2484yeah you got it right for water level in the boiler. We were told to run with water most the way up the sight glass on this boiler since the house rotating causes the water to slosh around. The water storage tank sits right next to the boiler, adding cold water to it regularly and keeping it full makes the injectors work better.
