One of my friend's cousin studies in a university where debate is mandatory (or mandatory with the subject he chose). So, I asked him how they prepare for debate and he replied that everyone just memorizes the points. Then I asked what they do when someone counters their argument, he said no one does that and everyone just says their individual points they memorized. My point is, schools here don't teach students with critical thinking in mind. As a result, even something like debate ends up a chore of memorization.

Nothing wrong with getting a GED and skipping the nonsense of high school. Nothing I learned in high school, I use today. Also, unless you're going into law, medicine, or engineering... Don't waste your time in college. I know college educated people who work lower wage jobs and never use their degrees with way too much student debt.

Hm.. well, for me school lacks the resources to help kids learn from their mistakes, they don’t give the kids time to really study for a test and see what they are struggling with. This is just in my opinion, but I feel school should be a bit longer, or they should give kids little pre-quizzes to see what they may be struggling in. Like for me, I always struggle in the little things in math, that would have been easy if I noticed it. But I feel showing your work would be a good thing to implament, since you can see how you came to the wrong conclusion. I feel test are too fast like I have a test tomorrow, and we just learned the lesson two days ago, well- relearned it. BUT that is just my experience with the school system, which is not over

I am a university profesor from Cuba, i can confirm that everything this video is showing us is accurate. Kids come to university without a base even about how to solve the most simple problems and logical from live, i like my classes to be meaningful and have a relation with the common live we all have outside education system, but i find in most situation that when they got it wrong is not because they lack knowledge or have any disability, is actually quite the opposite they have plenty and enough, is just they dont know how to use it at all, and there are a lot who crumble against the smallest obstacles.
