Among Us has recently gone from little known indie game - to worldwide phenomenon in just a few months. From 50 concurrent players to 3 million. While we're all enjoying the entertainment side of the game, I wanted to also take a look at the lessons we can draw from the journey of the developers - InnerSloth, a small team of just three people who, not too long ago, were barely getting by trying to keep the game alive. It's a fascinating case study that I think is worth taking a look at.

The thing about all those games is that they will quickly die out once everything gets back to normal. Animal Crossing was big for 3 months then everyone got burnt out of it either because of time travelling or because they completed the game because they had nothing else to do in March. Fall guys is only available on 3 platforms (PC, PS4 and PS5) and that game got big because it went free on PS Plus and you can now only play it but paying £20 and Among US got big because it’s free on Mobile which has a big audience for younger people and streamers influenced it.

Whenever I play Among Us I apparently become very very silent. I didn't even know about it until my sister told me that one time I became an imposter, I was silent for most of the game and once the game ended and I won my sister looked at me and I fell over laughing. I was sitting on the floor the entire time.

They need new game modes. 1. Impostor Enmity - impostors don't know who the other impostors are and can kill each. Confirm eject is automatically turned off. 2. Hide and seek - sets the lowest visibility for the impostors. Disables body reports and emergency. Players win by lasting X minutes. 3. Enforcer mode. One of the players is the "police" that if the impostor tries to kill, a shield activates but the police gets lowest visibility and speed lowered for x minutes to which the shield is disabled allowing the impostor to kill him.

I think the Henry stickmin games were a huge part at making among us succesful (Edit) because they were made by the same game developers(Puffballs…etc) and they promoted them on that game i.e Henry stickmin: completing the mission which is very successful

The funny thing is, I've legit found Among Us in my suggested section for 2 months back in 2018. It became my favorite past time over the summer when there was nothing else to do. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, Among Us has become one of the most popular games I've seen in awhile.
