Hondas are still stuck in 90’s design a century ago. This will get smoke in 0-80, 1/2m, 80-0 by the Prius. On top of that, the Toyota will have a better reliability and resale value due to time tested powertrain refinements over the decades, while Honda is on their THIRD totally different design. Point is, Honda is totally inferior to Toyota in hybrids.

Toyota suspension is garbage. None of them are for off-road use unless you want to replace struts and shocks every time you go off-roading with them. They are just not built for off road usage and there is practically zero performance aftermarket for them. And no the gravel road to your cottage does not count as off roading.

Auto buyers guide has had 4 reviewers (3 now), all of which have been males. Any chance of getting some female input soon? I love auto buyers guide but would love some diversity and varying experience/ opinions.

I have one of the first Ascents ever produced - a top trim 2019 model year Ascent built in mid-2018. Very happy with it. Towing capacity is a bit low for me, so I'll be looking for something with higher towing capacity

The Hatch will give serious competition to the Prius. So many of our customers want more space in their hybrid hatch & the Honda dealership is right next to our Toyota dealership... The game is on.

Will Tucson 2025 Limited have heads up display? Only Tucson 2024 PHEV used to have heads up display. But I am waiting for it to be available in Tucson Limited (non-hybrid version).

Something about the profile/styling just looks off to me, as it does with almost all Honda models/vehicles these days. Eye of the Beholder I suppose.

It looks Honda is upping their game over Toyota, maybe Toyota will respond on their next Corolla. Competition is always good to see. Thanks for the great job! .

How was the clearance for either of you under the open hatch? Did the tops of your heads brush up against the fully open hatch, or did it lift high enough to not bump your heads?

What a flop. only the 1% can buy it At 100k the plug will require an upgrade in the future. . . And 10k installed for the charger at home while I sleep. No gotta waist 1 hour every day to charge it People that pay 100k for a truck don't have 1hour to waste As a fashion statement and green statement and smart money a Toyota champ is 10k new another 10k to customize and you can go bankrupt

Do all dual clutch transmissions make subtle noises and can feel the shifting? Especially on hills, where it hunts for a gear? My Kia Niro PHEV does this and apparently this is normal? If so, what an awful engineering decision. Any insight would be nice. This car sounds great. Wish they would do a plugin version with more unique styling.

Eh better looking than the new Prius? While I agree, this generation Civic became more handsome than the last, it is relatively unexciting while the Prius looks exciting and fresh. The direction Toyota has taken the Corolla, Prius and Camry versus how the Civic and Accord have evolved has been interesting.. the Corolla is still a proper sized compact whereas the Civic is frankly a midsize now think which is evident by global sales, the Corolla thumps the Civic in virtually every market...they don't even bother selling the Civic in Japan anymore whereas the Prius and Corolla are still strong sellers there. The Civic and Accord have officially become cars for the US and China..

I love my 2016 Veloster R-Spec. There are just two comments I'd like to make, one of which I suspect you will disagree with. IMHO, this car is a three door, with a hatch. The hatch is not a door. Secondly, 0-60 time is compromised a bit by the fact that you must shift to 3rd before your reach 60 mph.

the hybrid looks more aggressive than the Si, thats crazy lol. the 3 year data plan is a clear sign that reliability isnt there anymore or of interest for manufacturers and want you in a new model every 3 years like people have been saying and called crazy by people. again a 3 year "complimentary data" is very unnecessary for an infotainment system. they start off subtle. also their 1.5 dream works engine was breaking down fast compared to their previous engine model.

A little of topic, the Insight (from 2019) can be considered as a hybrid version of the Civic. I was a bit disappointed that Honda didn't do an aerodynamic exterior styling like the 1st gen Insight since it looked similar to the Civic (I'm not saying the Civic looked bad). Even the Clarity should have been called the Insight (and should offer a regular hybrid powertrain along with the plug-in). I loved how the 1st gen Insight looked, so I'm not ruling out an Insight with a strange, yet futuristic aerodynamic design with potentially an EV powertrain, considering the move toward electrification of the industry. As for this Civic hybrid, it definitely will appeal to many people and can rival against the Corolla Hybrid and Prius. Overall, Honda did a good job on adding a new hybrid to their lineup.
