If you set this normal map or roughness map as your base image that you will be painting on then yes, provided your source image is also a normal or roughness map texture

When using the GetResponseContentAsString node in 5.4 I always receive a notice that it is depricated.

It seems that in 5.4 they have changed the underlying apis that VARest uses, try search to see what the updated node could be. Seems that it’s only supported in 5x-5.3

If it appears in an older version of blender then it might mean it’s not updated for the newer one, open the zip of the plugin and in the __init__ file at the top it will say which blender version it starts at. Try update it for the blender version you are on e.g 4.2.0 save, re-zip it and see if it opens Also if inside blender you go to Window>ToggleSystemConsole you can see when you try import the add on if there are any error messages (this is on windows though Mac has another way to open blender with the console running) Hope this helps

Yes it can in fact this model I made was exported to gltf to be used in Microsoft Flight sim and it works well 👍

Hello there,I m a newbie to making game, this video help me alot. Im using 5.2.1,and Im totaly follow your steps,do the rendering thing.But I got some "tear issues" on the output pngs.I wander maybe Its 5.2.1 cause this problem.Can you tell me whats your specify unreal version?

It was in 5.1 I recall reading that 5.2 changed a few render components maybe try the older version or have a look and play with the settings. Possibly try 5.3 they might have fixed a few things

You just helped me with an issue i was facing for like 2 weeks trying to solve it. Nobody had a solution cuz it became a thing while i was fixing a different issue. And btw yes you can bake multiple texures in one map. HUGE thanks bro keep it up

Hiho a really nice video, thanks a lot! I only have a few questions: 1. U hardcoded your username and password in the "make literal string", so u can nline login with the correct account but noone else could login ^^ 2. I want so send the login Data to my backend to verify the player at the backend and send the token back if the varification is correct... but i dient get any data with that post... 3. how can I send data in the req.body, its alwais empty...

Not so simple as shown here! :/ If you're comparing the same project in DX11 without Nanite VS DX12 with Nanite the FPS crash-down x2 because of the extrat use of GPU Memory by Nanite process even if the project is empty... :S Starting a project already in DX12 and switching the asset in Nanite mode, will obviously give you better results than Meshes, but that don't' t mean Nanite is performing better if you have some limitation with your GPU Memory :/ ... To make it short, if you're planning to distribute your project for several kind of computers on the market, building everything with Nanite can be a mess, even for RTX Card is those have some Memory limitation :/ Nanite start to perform with huge number of asset only with RTX GPU full of Memory, in this case the benefit of Nanite tech is obvious...

Hey awesome tutorial but how would you go about exporting the textures of several objects that will be one object in the game engine? For example a sword with its blade and hilt that doesnt have the same textures. If I join them in blender how about the textures baking?

Ok so you need to bake each object separately and make sure the textures are inside the material for the object Once you have made the textures for each object, select them all and do the file export process This will pack all the objects into one fbx file This is the file to import into the game engine which will then unpack them

I’m sure you can you just need to have a Post method that you handle on the backend to update the data. Put the update in the body then call the api

The thing is i already have PBR mat on my model but exporting the fbx and importing it another blender file ....the textures don't come with the mesh

Make sure to pack the textures into the fbx, towards the end of the video I show you how to copy them on export 👍

Sorry for the delay, so I had similar issues and you will see sometimes the tokens are not string but int so instead of specifying a string field try use int or float as the type in VaRest. I found that I had that issue when I tried to get the age from the dataset. Ping back if it works so others can solve this too if they face the issue

Hi, so the Developer for VaRest states on the marketplace support for 5 and 5.1 so it should work. I didn’t develop the plugin but only wanted to share what I have learnt with everyone 👍

Hi June, you will need to load an image at runtime from a URL. You can use this VaRest plugin to get the url date from the json then follow something like this to load the image dev.epicgames.com/community/learning/tutorials/rZwp/unreal-engine-import-images-during-runtime Hope it helps, if not send another comment
