I agree that a person should not love the world, but when I was seeking to be financially free, I had to focus on investing and real estate, and it took my eyes off of God for many many years over a decade and it just turned into looking exactly like someone that loves the world because I was able to become financially free, but the time that I freed up was spent only Girls and fornication and sexual morality was the norm. Eventually, I made an investment with a family member that caused me to lose everything and I had to move from that city that was so so much fun but now I am seeking God and I am wondering if he was the one that caused me to lose those things, even though they aren’t sinful in and of themselves, they freed up my time and allowed me to Indulge in the flesh more. I am just trying to make sense of it because I still have depression that I am trying to find relief from nothing in this world is working. I regret losing everything mostly but I know I should just be more sorry for how it hurt my relationship with the Lord. I don’t have a godly sorrow yet and maybe that’s why I haven’t been able to repent and I don’t feel like God is close to me. I just feel abandoned And, stupid for losing everything. I miss that big city and the pleasure that sin brought was still better than this depression. I am going through depression, trying drugs and experimenting with that but I had to quit because it just leaves you depressed and that’s probably why I have depression. I made a mess of myself and just looking for answers. Did God Discipline me is that why he took those away or was it just a random bad choice that I made and I reap what I sow like everyone else. I mostly feel hurt because I lost my dream and became unsuccessful and I was really chasing success just to be a free person and not have to go to a crappy job every day.
