What guitar is that? I picked up a very similar looking ibanez years ago and use it for my main. Same hardware, inlays, pickups. Completely different finish thougg

It's an ART320 from around 2009. There were a few around that time with this style inlay, but you don't see the 320 that often these days

Could you please do more Mastodon. I've been wanting to learn stuff like Ember City, Steambreather, Last Baron... Honestly the entire catalog if possible lol I absolutely love this band. Also thank you for putting in the times for the different sections of this composition. I don't call mastodon music songs but to me they are true compositions. Lastly, beautiful work and awesome playing. I love the axe and you sound super clean with that bite and grit tone. It'd be cool to collaborate sometime if that would ever be possible. I do guitar and multiple other instruments plus vocals. Keep on jamming and keep music alive 🤙🙏

For some reason when I try to play the interlude part I get a lot of dissonance. Is that normal? Every cover I've heard plus the original recording sounds completely normal. I've tried using different guitars but I always get this weird dissonance that I can't stand.

tip for anyone who gets their ass beat by this rhythm: don’t think of it as an “extra beat” on that last bar. think of the bars before as MISSING a beat. when gojira themselves play the song, they hit a note on the upbeat of the “extra beat” right before the outro starts to loop.

Pretty good. It just proves to me it's the riff, not the tuning. An old band of mine played in A standard. (7 string guitar/ 5 string bass) I can play the same riffs in D standard on my 6 string and it's the same shit just not as low on the frequency.
