would there still be gold in those tailings
@inbwanderer
@inbwanderer Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, you could further refine it but the process would take a large mining company twice as much in cost to extract the gold. You or me could go a pan a mine dump or tailings and find gold. Just be sure your not on a active mine claim in the old days (claim jumping) you'd be shot! You gotta watch this crazy gold prospector Jeff Williams. He has everything on his channel about prospecting. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3WbZIWqm7GWrLM. In this video he talks about getting gold from old mine dumps. He got me inspired to hunt for gold in the desert. Looks like I am going to turn out to be a old prospector LOL.

Yea Ricky, you got that right. Cops are always showing up at my ex-wife's apartment complex for some kind of crazy. That's why I am moving the kids out of Las Vegas. I was just in the back country down a jeep trail and someone had tossed a kitchen bag full of trash in the desert for no reason.

@inbwanderer

It was soooo cold coming off the mountain. I wanted to taste test the water but with any drinking source you get from a spring, stream, river ect. it needs to be at a minimum boiled to drink to kill off the bacteria that can make you very sick. I have life straws amzn.to/3A7sdMI a brand that uses activated ingredients for emergencies when I am out in the wilderness and I can drink using any water source clean or dirty using that device.

In October 2018 my wife and I were on a U.S road trip (from New Zealand). We left Las Vegas one Sunday morning before our hotel dining room was open for breakfast and drove to Needles in California, where we picked up muffins, fruit and coffee for breakfast. We then stared to drive Route 66. We stopped briefly in Oatman, just long enough to stretch our legs and take some photos. On getting back into our car we were approached by one of the burros. At the time you could feed them, although I understand that is now prohibited. My wife encouraged me to feed the burro the peel from my breakfast orange. He was so interested in it that he stuck his head right into the drivers window to eat. Once the peel was gone I tried to pat him, but he was having none of it. He snorted, tossed his head and wandered off, looking for another meal. Wish we had had more time to explore the town. We will be heading back next year so then we will spend a few hours in Oatman.

Decent and informative content. Just a quick question though. I feel like something overlooked. Why was there no mention of the previous owner of the Pioneer Saloon? Mr. Donald Hedrick, who kept the town going adding the ambulance, also voted as Constable working alongside Highway Patrol and Metro to help with safety in the community. Always donating his time or money to keep such an amazing place to live from falling apart. He was a productive leader within the continuing community that is today’s Goodsprings Nevada. R.I.P. Grandpa….

Well Thomas, I did some research and turns out those gates belong to the new owner is Adrenaline Mountain www.adrenalinemountain.com/ they bought the land to a few mines in the area. They made a off road adventure playground out there for the tourists for Las Vegas. Those gates are there for safety reasons to keep people from stumbling into the off road courses that they zip down the trails. I reached out to them and they said I could come and visit the mine just need to fill out a waver before hand and check in at the main office. I will be back to follow up with that with a future video.

Thank you for all the historical research you did, that takes time. It made your video, so much more interesting and accurate. I like it when someone like you go the extra mile to share possibly unknown or forgotten information about a town in how it was formed, blossomed in its industrial business the people and their contributions and the others laywork supporting their community. And how it began to fade, as the big companies left. They're not forgotten when you create such a mini documentation of the various ordinary citizrns. Youve shsred resources, whereby others can also experience, following your own tour or make their own tour, when they visit this town too. And people like myself whom can't travel also have been educated too. Thank you for your contribution of sharing history with us. Keep up the great work. I look forward to your next discovery in your own learning adventure.

Thank you Lura for your very kind response, yes it does take a lot of time. I was going to shoot random buildings around the town and such but I did research before hand and thought wow this is really interesting stuff and the video just kind of took on a life of it's own. That was my very first attempt at a documentary type style. While I wont always be doing history type documentary films I will be very compelled to do one sprinkled in with my other life projects I will be working on. Just simply skip the videos that are of boring little ol me LOL. History was never something I was interested in as a kid but as I got older it has been something I have taken a serious interest in. I grew up in Northern California just minutes from where gold was first discovered in California... so many interesting places, mines, and locations I will probably never see again. If you know any locations or places you would like to see in a future video shoot me a email at [email protected] and I will make it a point to visit those places (within 3 hours of Las Vegas Nevada). I will of course get better with time and refine my skills as a content creator which is all part of the journey. Finally having just one person out there like yourself out there makes me extremely happy to shoot and produce accurate videos! Very Best Wishes
