Sorry. But, this is unrealistic. Shall I go thru them one-by-one? 1) What to do if you die tomorrow? Seek out those threats and evaluate/confront them. You'll increase your chances of a longer life. 2) a) Against the herd? Not always. Get your own set of values (regardless of the herd), adhere to them, and evaluate each situation on its own merits. b) Job security entails allowing someone to fire you? No way. Job security is having a Plan B, just in case. Usually it's being self-employed. You won't fire yourself. c) Do what you love? Too simple. Bliss doesn't build/establish anything. Work at building/establishing your own life/retirement. If you don't invest in the future, you won't have a future; you'll just be part of the pollution blown by the wind. 3) a) Embrace the unknown? Too broad/vague. You'll never know everything, and you'll wind up ignoring what you do know. That's stupid. b) Go without a plan? Then, you'll never have anything of your own. Be careful of what you ask for; you might just get it. Develop a plan as you go, such as becoming independent, so you won't always be at the mercy of others. Then, you can really travel on your own. c) Easy to make friends? If they follow your advice, they too are traveling on their own, and there's no room for you. You have to work at making friends. 4) a) Trust in your own path? Not so. your post here is a good example. You need to seriously re-evaluate this path that you're on. b) Can't connect the dots looking forward? You gave up too easily. That's probably why you gave up on formulating a plan for your life. You need to look forward to plan for a long life (but always have a plan B). Don't leave it to chance. c) Trust that the dots will connect in the future? Not if you have a short life, they won't. d) Have to trust in something? It's better if you decide for yourself what that is, than to embrace (the unknown) whatever comes your way. And, that takes mindfulness/work. e) Things won't come out good if you only follow your heart. You also have to have a good peace of mind about it. There was this guy who was obsessed about flying. So, he wound up jumping off of a tall building. As he passed by the 100th floor, he was asked, "How's it going?". He answered, "So far so good!". Misplaced confidence can be dangerous. 5) Dream big? Sure, but don't be stupid about it. Be careful of what you ask for, you might just get it. 6) People are good everywhere? Don't confuse "good" with smart. You're a good example of exceptions to that. You might not be "evil", but you're sure not smart. 7) Complete control of your destiny? Not so. Ever hear that "Serenity Prayer"? "Grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."? You really need to pray that prayer every morning before getting out of bed. Maybe then you'll really wake up, and see the world for what it really is, and have a confidence that you can be confident of (or as much of that as can be had). Get it?
