Some songs were born to be simple and if you add all kinds of other sounds you screw it up…this is a good example of that….all you need is two guitars and one voice ….

This is a minstrel song about envisioning Haiti as a "promised land" to send black people to solve america's "negro problem". There's not any amount of rearranging by a white composer that can make this song not racist.

Middle school choir. That high note (a B?) in “sun” (1:27) was optional for the 1st sopranos. I was so proud of myself for reaching it. Good to find this song again.
