For those wondering where to purchase a recording of this arrangement, you can get it on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir CD entitled Peace Like a River.

Mack Wilberg's gorgeous arrangement for Altos and backup singers! It has taken over from Shaw/Parker as my favorite arrangement of Deep River - altho I love both.

This song echoes the pain enslaved Africans had to endure in the deep South :'(

Absolutely - an all white choral appropriation of an an African American spiritual is just what we need to 'echo the pain of enslaved Africans'.

Very effective and moving arrangement. I cannot understand how the group can sing their best while seated, however.
@hepzebahsu Жыл бұрын
Only the front row is seated. Often that's for singers who can't stand for the entire concert.

how is it possible to sing this not standing up. The choral director is messed up, man.
@peckmike10 жыл бұрын
My guess is that since this is a community choir, there are probably members of the group who have a hard time standing for extended periods of time.

Michael Peck ... looks too like only the front row is sitting.

Does anyone know where I can find an audio recording of this specific arrangement? I search itunes for deep river mack wilberg and nothing pops up. A search for Mack Wilberg brings up lots of results but Deep River isn't one of them.
