I like how you shared the history of this palace. It made me appreciate more of what I am looking at through your eyes.

At what point in the video did you need the ticket for the inside of the palace? I’m trying to decide if I only want the park ticket. Your video was very helpful, thank you!

I love your video because I like previewing where I'm going to travel and yours is the best I've seen of Pena Palace, Sintra. Other people just pick their favorite spot and film there and not explain as clearly as you do. I guess since you're a tour guide, your way of explanation is more organized and makes sense even if I've never been to Sintra. I'll be there soon though. Just want to thank you for making the video. It helped me a lot.

I've been researching about how to get up to Pena Palace from Sintra Train Station and you are the only one who has filmed the road up to the parking lot and then taking the tuk-tuk up to the entrance. And even better, you took out the map and showed the entire area of Pena Palace explaining how to explore in the direction that's easier because of steep climbing. Your video is the most CLEAR AND STRAIGHTFORWARD explaining how to go about the Pena Palace grounds which seems very vast and a lot to cover. THE BEST VIDEO!!!! Thank you!!

We were in Sintra 2 years ago and stayed one week. Monserrate is beautifull and the park is like a dinosaur place. The plants are huge! Sintra is a magical place where you should stay longer then 1 or 2 days. But thats my opinion.

It would have been nice if you showed us how to get there - it seems to not be on high demand tourist site.

Excellent video tour of Pena Palace. What is the cart that you took at the entrance? Was that the shuttle for 2.88 euro on the ticket portal? We are elderly couple, would the shuttle worthwhile to buy to save the 30 minutes walk?

If you just get up to the terraces, and ignore most of the garden and interior of the palace then yeah it is kinda possible, but I bet you'd end up wanting to have more time

This info is amazing. Thank you. I keep seeing videos that say go to Pena palace first thing in the morning when it opens, but I also saw another video that said do regalia and morros first and safe this all the way until 4 pm or so and that Pena would be less crowded that way. Do you recommend that? We only have one day, unfortunately. This was fantastic info. You are truly an expert and not just someone that showed up there once and made a video. Thank you!!!!!!!

Thanks for the video! I will be in Sintra on July 8th. I will be arriving on the early morning train from Lisbon. I saw that you can buy tickets earlier and thought I would. Alternatively, having arrived in Sintra, it is not possible to find a guide for the whole region. I would like to visit the Pena Palace and La Quinta da Regaleira (possibly the castle of the Moors). What should I do? I am a backpacker who adapts to everything... Thanks again.

In Germany there are very few castles, even if tourism tours show a lot of them, but the true is that more than 90% were built in the 19 century ac when castles were no longer useful. Contrary to Portugal where castles were used in many medieval wars.

Great video! I will take the train from Lisbon to Sintra. What is the exact train stop to get off on in the town of Sintra? When I exit the train, are there taxis, tuk tuks available to take us to the gates of the Peña Palace? Should I purchase my tickets on line? I am going with someone who is elderly and we have to limit the walking with her. Thank you!

Hi, at this time of the year just set it for like Praia dos Galapinhos or Portinho da Arrábida for example, it will bring you to the part of the road closest to the beaches! In the summer the road is partially closed though

I recently stayed in Sintra (loved it!) but had a fairly creepy experience at the very old guesthouse I was staying in. I had a large accommodation, it had a main room and then a hallway leading to a second bedroom, bathroom and a dressing room. I felt weird in that hallway and closed the door to the second bedroom, but carried on with my day. The next morning when I sat at my table for breakfast I set my tea down and I watched as the cup and sauce moved about a foot from near the edge of the table to be closer in front of me. Very odd, but I didn’t want to dwell too hard on it and went about my day. When I got back later that night I took a shower, and when I was done and moved to go turn off the water the shower head (one of the ones that is mounted but can be pulled down) flung itself down at me and struck my wrist. I was freaked out, it had been well mounted seemingly and I hadn’t actually gotten around to touching the water so I couldn’t explain it with a sudden water pressure difference. I’m debating letting the host/owner know and seeing if they have any other stories, I’ve never really had something like that happen to me before!
