I use a coleman propane two burner stove, more btu's than any other means, very compact. ditch the coffee machine , for a coffee press.... just boil water. also consider leaving so many electric consumers at home . If nessesary , we use dry ice in a cooler , no mess and it lasts a very long time... or simply don't bring refrigerated stuff , only food items that need hot water : oatmeal , coffee, dehydrated meals. You own you stuff , but eventually .... your items own you.

@@ericp7271 nice, I have a two burner propane stove and use a coffee percolator. It’s fine but am open to alternatives. For me, the whole solar power system build/power management is fun, so I like to test out how many electricity consuming items I can run for a given time period as an experiment. Doing the DIY solar power system pretty much opened my eyes to how cheap and easy power generation/storage has become. Just need to do some wiring and battery mounting.

@ I just make sure the fuel line is secured upward. No fuel leaks out for me as it would have to climb its way up and out of the line. @@Osobear14 think of it like this: the CDL is just another tool to mitigate a loss of traction when off road (don’t use on-road). If you find that you cannot make it through an obstacle due to loss of traction, engage the CDL to increase your potential for traction. I recommend doing this proactively (turning CDL on as soon as you’re off road) but you can also do it reactively (leave it off until you can’t get through an obstacle due to traction loss)

Hi, you didn’t talk about the 2006 Lexus GX470- whether it’s reliable and what issues to look for. Thanks
@lexus_offroad_adventures23 күн бұрын
@@gy9969 2003-2009 is basically the same car with some key differences. In 2005, Lexus introduced continuously variable valve timing. This gave about 35 more horsepower and more torque. Not going to kill reliability but more complexity for sure. They also switched to a plastic intake manifold from the cast aluminum one in the non-VVT 03-04 (again, not a big deal but could affect longevity). The only thing that a 05 and on engine suffers from commonly vs. 03-04 non-VVT engines is the introduction of the SAIS system, which was for emissions compliance. This system can lead to check engine lights and prevent you from passing emissions tests. If you live in a state like California, this is a problem because you’ll have to repair it. If you do not live in an emissions compliance focused state, you can just block it off/delete the system, clear the check engine light, and go about your day. I have done a lot more videos on some common repairs/service items. It’s not difficult to do basic maintenance on these GXs yourself if you have some tools.
