@worldoffelco5 ай бұрын
Hi @janicemitchell5783 Thanks for your comment. The cog wheel sets the tension between the blades. Once you have tightened this to your desired tension, then you use the opposing cogged screw to fix this into place. But in reality, Felco has such hopelessly bad logistics and communication, the quality (which I don't contest), along with the entire product line, can just as well not exist. Don't take my word for it. Go shopping this weekend and look at what is on the shelves: China, China, China! Then try contacting Felco, offering to stock their products and even reserve parts in your own shop. No reply, year after year. Next, try contacting their so-called "distributors". You will then learn they don't usually stock or sell Felco, don't know much about the products, only sell a small subset of products and don't deal with spare parts. Felco might well know something I don't about this industry. I am, however, qualified to say my shop won't sell Felco, because I can't, and not for lack of trying.

@worldoffelco11 ай бұрын
Hi Snailboy5610, there must be some grit in there somewhere. Instead of the tool i would suggest trying some grip or pliers on the flat side of that centre cog and seeing whether you can undo it that way. Alternatively the official Felco website offers servicing, which is reasonably priced too - details can be found here - www.felcoservicing.co.uk/

Great video, needs a tiny slow down / expanded view of the very last bit that you put together: the thumb catch that closes the secateurs when not in use - the little washer goes on the handle and then the catch and screw. But this is not clear from the video (but is clear to see from the Felco packaging). I also use an unfolded paperclip to get dirt out of various holes that get full of gunge after cleaning. Have you considered selling the Niwaki Crean Mate? A great eco-friendly invention, saves on all the plastic and petro chems associated with solvent cleaners etc. Thanks for a great video. 2 pairs cleaned yesterday!

Good point regarding the washer - in hindsight, i should have zoomed in on that bit. In regards to the Niwaki Crean, we only sell Felco products, but I will look into that nevertheless

The Okatsune website suggests sharpening the cutting blade on both sides. On the inside, it is proposed to make a small chamfer at an angle of 15 degrees. On the outside, a larger chamfer is made at an angle of 23 degrees. Can you specify the same for Felco pruners. And also, what is the purpose of the chamfer on the inside?

On another video heard the presenter say he had a pair of roll handled Felcos ten years, and they would last another ten years. If they will only last him twenty years I certainly would not let him borrow mine. I purchased them over forty years ago and they are still going strong. They have been well used asI worked in wholesale nurseries one of my jobs was collecting cuttings, understock for stenting, scions and each year removing Black Berries.

To have a Felco is a investment for centuries. My first 7 is from 1979 / 43 years and still perfect in her work. My model 6 was lost in the vineyard in the grape harvest time in October.
