Lovely video! Could I ask which filament you used for the keyboard case? It's gorgeous!

Hi. It's great that this is relatively easily possible today. But I have a question: Does this (chip) design allow n-key rollover? Or at least 4-key rollover? I have some more complex key combinations (for shortcuts) that I need to function.

Really happy to have found this video. I am just wondering: how, using the "grid layout" to find the key being pressed are you able to identify multiple keys being pressed at the same time?

Loved the video. Great information at a macro level, not so detailed that I feel overwhelmed. I really want to design my own custom numpad that's low profile. I have a cidoo currently but getting VIA to work on it seems impossible. Any suggestions? I have a print farm, and I do cad modeling/gerber file creation for work. But no experience building a keyboard from start to finish

I wanted a dactyl manuform keyboard for the longest time. I started by researching about making one or where to get one. Making one seemed wayyy too daunting from the only video i could find on it at the time, so I bought one. It ended up never arriving and I never got a refund. After a couple years, I found this video which kinda inspired me to try to make it by myself now !! the explanations are super easy to understand thank you !

Please don't promote row+column approach for handling keys, it really limits the simultaneous keypresses and that really sucks. 11 vs 30 wires shoul not be that big of a difference.

I hope I’m not being rude but I wanted to nitpick something you said at around 15:25 flux doesn’t help the solder flow but rather help bond the solder to the pad. Without flux it can actually cause a cold solder which doesn’t perfectly attach the thing you are soldering

I absolutely love the video. It made me consider finally going through with trying to get into my own custom keyboard. However: As I was trying to go along with the process and reading through the ZMK documentation I found something that was kinda odd to me: In the video you move your `boards` directory into your `config` directory and then move the caldera files into the `shields` subdirectory. When looking under the general configuration page it is stated that this location for the shield files is for backwards compatibility only and should not be used. So my question is: Is there a reason for why you did what you did? Or was this a recent addition to the docs?

I definitely would love to see an in depth video of Ergogen. I have watched several videos that talk about it but I like the way you explain things. Neat board you built! I might have to grab one.

Excellent video! Really informative and very well presented and produced. I've already built couple of split keyboard kits but I learned about Ergogen here. I might design my own keyboard PCB for fun at some point and this video gave me good info and some more confidence in being able to do it without too much help.

I would really appreciate if someone could help me change the PCB to use MX switches. This is exactly the kind of keyboard I’ve been looking for but I want to use switches that sound cool. I figured out how to fix all the settings in ergogen, but I’m not comfortable making the connections in kicad.
