Thanks so much for this video. Swooped both springs today and it made my job so easier! Saved a couple of hundred quid as well!!

Hello What where your settings on your mig welder for this project?
@mrfid7229 күн бұрын
I like to use a high setting and just do a spot at a time. In some area i will do short runs on a lower current. but it really is what works for you and your welder.

Warning… I made the mistake of using 10mm threaded rod and it worked OK on the first engine but stripped the threads on the second engine so your 12mm threaded rod is much better at taking the force needed to pull the bearings so 12mm is perfect 😊

Hi. I have a Biemme BMC Motori childs bike that my father bought for me when we were on holiday in Italy around 1972. Im convinced it has the same family of engines as the Norman Nippy. Its currently stripped down and under going its 2nd restoration in the 52 years Ive had it. Can you tell me as much about that engine as possible please as Im sure a lot of parts are interchangable. Mine is not a moped though, its a twist and go kick start model. Thanks Mark

Can you remember if the final drive pinion gear and the final drive lined up fully ? The reason I'm asking is because in a gearbox that I'm getting ready to recondition, the two are not aligned 100% . It looks as if one of them is not in its correct position. I cant imagine that in such an application, the gears would not be fully engaged across their whole width. I just had a look and estimate they're about 8mm out of line. Either the final drive gear is to far toward the flywheel side or the pinion is too far toward the other side. But when running, it all worked Ok and had quite a lot of power going through it.

I have to be honest i can't remember, it might be worth give guess works a call? www.guess-works.com/
@herenow2895Ай бұрын
@@mrfid72 - I've already had a chat with the chap at guess works about a different matter, but may call again if it still looks out of line upon dismantling. I reckon that the pinion gear might be wider that the final drive, accounting for the apparent non alignment. I watched a video about someone fitting a cross pin diff and managed to catch a brief glimpse of the two gears and there did look to be the same non exact alignment. So maybe nothing to worry about.

Great video. The "debris" was just the white metal coating. Might have been a good idea to put an oily rag over the cam follower holes, just to make sure none fell down from the middle one. I seem to remember that "line" honing was offered in conjunction with cam bearing installation. But maybe that was just for competition engines ? Thanks for showing us how you dealt with this job. Good work.

Thanks for that, much appreciated. It reminded me that I need to get a central oil pick up pipe.

Why didn't you just remove the lot with cooler. Then it's only 2 torx bolts once you have removed things out the way and took hose off

Hi! When i change my oil filer on the same engine, there was a big sprong on the bottom of filter housing (under filter). I guess it shouldn't be there, because filter wasn't fixed in housing. Did you have the spring, i didn't noticed?

Thanks for the video. Just did the job of replacing the second lower hose and it took me a couple of hours because of the corrosion. A tip is to use wd40 type penetration oil and some hook tools or long screwdrivers. Don't give up. It seems impossible at first but the more you spray and wiggle it will come loose. Best of luck to you all.

i never had, just make sure you have plenty of fluid in the reservoir, which shouldn't be a problem as you will push loads back in with the pistons .

It takes 12 minutes to take this off ,Don't listen to this man this is an easy job you don't need any mirror or camera and you don't need to take anything of to get to it just follow the egr down from the electric connection and you will feel the two bolts they are bolted facing the front of the engine and a t45 fits them can be removed in a few minutes and you can see these bolts if you look from the side of the car
