I’ve been using my R6 for travel video documentaries for over 3 years, it got drenched under the the Niagara Falls, been covered in mud, I brought it to Southeast Asia , South America but yes it overheats, it did when I was doing an interview in the Philippines in a very dangerous slum, I was able to get the shot but I got so nervous that I lost focus in other stuff, I’m looking forward to get the r5c or c80 and my R6 will be my bcam or either rig it and put a fan

This is totally unrelated, but does the EOS C70 (with latest firmware) allow users to record with AUTO ISO enabled, specifically in Canon-LOG (two or three)?

I dont think of Canon as a cinema camera company. Professional video, yes but not cinema. The arri alexa is a real cinema camera.

The music is a bit loud, in my opinion. It gets distracting.

I got insane footages by using the EOS R6 with an Atomos Ninja V. And the R6 is not the only camera with this overheating problem. Even the A7IV. So we have to not buy this one too?

to compare this both cameras are not fully right. The C70 is a full cinema camera, with much more features as multi mic input and ND filters. As well the canon colors are one of the best on the market. The Canon c70 can record RAW on a SD card, which the GH7 you need expensive cards.

i am actually comming back to Canon to the C70 , after gh4, gh4r, gh5, gh5s, gh6 ... cause .. battery is worse and worse, and gh6 had the sensor streaking, The gh7 got the autofocus of the g9 ii , and that's it .. that should be the gh6 with good AF and no streaking, and would be nice like every old panasonic. but no.

The GH7 is the new GH5, it was groundbreaking when the GH5 came out and they're breaking ground again w/ the GH7. The GH6 we can all just forget that it ever happened tbh, that was such a terrible year of releases for Pana, it was the shortest lived generation of GH cameras ever.

C70 has RAW. You may need to update your firmware. PS, love the GH series. Had all models since the GH2.

Pair this camera with an Olympus 12-100mm f/4 IS Pro and you've got a wicked good setup that covers all ranges... that lens is RAZOR sharp.

you are nuts.. this camera is just old 4 years tech.. with a very bad, still, rolling shutter as for nowadays... it's a bad investement.. and it won't sell like gh6 ..

The GH series has always been a good system for video, since people first decided to hack the cameras, around 2010, since then, Panasonic has picked up the ball and ran with it, when it comes to video, and they have some great cameras in their line-up. Of course, the big thing recently, was Panasonic moving from contrast detect AF to phase detect, which is a very good thing (I have a Panasonic S1R, and the autofocus is not great). The GH7, looks like it is going to be an excellent camera for video, and many of their lenses are designed for video. There are also a decent number of anamorphic lenses for the system. In regard to the Netflix approved cameras*. Panasonic do have several cameras that are Netflix approved, including the S1H, but the GH6, never was, despite it having Apple Pro res. When it comes to Neflix approved, it should be said, that not all content on Netflix will be shot on Netlix approved cameras. The only shows that have to be shot on approved cameras, are Netflix original productions, and Netflix buy in 3rd party productions all the time. The weight saving on lenses with micro 4/3 is phenomenal. Carrying full frame kit around all the time can be backbreaking.

Even GH5s is approved by Netflix. And that could only record prores raw via Ninja V. So I don’t see any reasons, why the GH7 should not get approved soon.

Pro tip, get to the point a little faster in your vids... Anyways, have the Mark 2 that has fixed the overheating. It is a fantastic camera for video, never overheats in 1080. Have not shot more than aprox 25min in 4k but no overheating so far. Dont see why I would film one take straight in 4k for more than 20 min anyways though. Have the dummy battery but never had use for it. Agree with the micro hdmi port. I use a Feelworld 7 and have broken three cables so far, ending up bying a micro to standard adapter cause they are cheaper to replace.

The Canon R8 does not have IBIS. The Nikon Z5 does have IBIS. Hence, the weight of the R8 is lighter. For image and video stabilization, the Z5 wins in this category and it's not even close. Canon have progressed faster than Nikon in the mirrorless cameras, which is why more people use Canons over Nikon for video, a huge win for Canon. In my opinion, I believe big KZbinrs also have established the idea that shooting with Nikon is like shooting with a potato. Perception becomes reality. Nikon's newer cameras such has the ZF, Z8, and the Z9 are great cameras for photo and video. The Z8 and Z9 also continue to receive firmware updates and continue to improve them, and that's with no subscriptions. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think Nikon as good if not a better selection of lenses for sports and wildlife; professional-level. Nikon has also had third party full-frame lenses for years while Canon barely opened it for crop-sensor cameras. Also, in the video, you mentioned Nikon uses the F mount, that's for their DSLRs. Their mirrorless system uses the Z mount, the largest mount available for full frame today. Both brands are absolutely fantastic and Canon had the edge for the past few years. When you compare with the models I mentioned, you will find they are fantastic to use. It comes down to personal preference. I have the Nikon ZF and enjoy shooting and recording video with it.

If you really wanted to do a comparison you would have done the r6 r5 vs the z8 z9. The cameras you chose it was already apparent you didn’t want to do a fair comparison. That or you really don’t know what you’re talking about.
