I used the F2 and I am now in the editing room with the recordings and I am finding them way to low volume. I have to crank it up to +12db to get it loud enough and then it distorts of course. Any suggestions?

I'm in the EXACT same boat. and if I apply too much extra volume in post, the 32-bit audio ends up clipping/distorted. already have it packed up ready to return -_-

If you go into the app you can adjust the base level. Although I’ve never had to had to adjust that from how they came and I’ve never had issues like clipping with the 32-Bit float

I don't have a F2 (I use H1) but I do edit other audio in 32bit. Essentially what it is is the file can contain a much larger volume range, more information, than the usual wav or mp3 format and so when you dump that into an editor that isn't properly reading it you might get a bad waveform display and the program might read it too quietly. I edit in Adobe Premiere but export to Audacity and RX for the audio because of this. What this means is that if the original audio is way louder than it should be then you can lower that volume back under the clip line and recover that lost information - it wasn't really lost in the first place but your audio program might have suggested it was. For the other end, the lower volume, again be aware your editor might just not be seeing the levels right because it isn't the smaller resolution the program expects it to be. This might be an issue if you only use a program that has a set amount of gain allowed to add such as the sliders in Adobe Premiere. This is one reason I edit audio externally. If you dump your problem file into Audacity and normalize it how does it look and actually sound when you play it? It's a case of use your ears not your eyes as the program might not really be displaying what really is in a 32bit file. Now of course if you normalize it up and it sounds all hissy and garbage then yes you have a different problem relating to the mic quaity or it's distance from the audio source. 32bit isn't magic. It's use is to record much larger audio information than smaller formats, not fix microphone mistakes.

I have used the Zoom H4n, i just may switch to that, based on what you said about it in the Chicago tower. AUDIO is the most imortant thing to me!

Like make a short thats attention grabbing like “check out this rode mic kill” all the action at the end “check out my full review here.” Make a few versions and post over a week. In some of them ask them to interact with the video in unique ways “check out my full review and tell me why I’m wrong” or something like that
