The beauty in this video is stunning. The mountain lakes, waterfalls, the vistas from the valleys as well as the summits. Loved the interview with Snowball about the A.T. and his harrowing zero degree day attempting Mt. Washington in high winds with ice. Enjoyed hearing about the A.T. hostel and trail angel culture vs the PCT. Amazing river crossing, and lovely people you met, as well as the dog!

Starting to get caught back up with your videos. Fascinating to see the transition from desert to the Sierras, and so stark. Wow. Great job showing your viewers the point where the transition was so evident. Beautiful, large trees there at that first campsite with the two women through hikers. And then another dusty, rocky high mountain pass. You are doing amazing work with the vlog!

Ugh that poor guy. What a terrible story. You meet so many really interesting people.
@JaruWalks12 күн бұрын
He is an actually one of the two toughest and fastest hikers on the PCT I’ve met so far. We camped together one morning, he took off maybe ten minutes before me and I did not see him again until that evening. It rained all day and I saw no more than 4 or so other hikers on trail. 32 miles later that day I ran into him. He was the only one I’ve met so far who pushed those miles and through the rain. I add all that context to say, Baby Cow is no “poor guy”.

Great conversation about managing fears. Yet in keeping your boundaries between you and the fear you can still process, and make wiser decisions in the end. A good strategy for your thru hike × 3. However, I am feeling anger about your packages situation. Its a frustrating situation for anyone but on a like yours its important to have the expected outcome. Sorry that didn't work despite the carefull planning. I am praying the rest of the hike will bring you better results and conditions and safety through fire situations ahead. God bless you Jaru. 🙏

I like that you are real with your interviews. Humans tend to filter out things they find unpleasant, but that can also filter out empathy. The thunderstorm was energizing! We had a big storm roll through WA last night. I thought of you. I wonder if you were in OR when it rolled through there yesterday. Looking forward to your video from that time frame. Fear. Your analogy is spot on. Except, PTSD. It is amazing how strong those fears can be. It is absorbed in your cells and seems to remain forever. Manageable, but dang difficult. Glad you got your new shoes! What is the headlamp? I'm very curious. Take care and stay strong. 💜

YES! Amazon, "2-day shipping" is one of the biggest lies in history. I have NEVER received anything I ordered from them in two days, even shipped THROUGH Amazon, when calling support, they even tell you, ONCE it is shipped it is 2 days. (Which has always been the case) but I have had up to 10 days for items to actually be shipped out. So IF I need something immediately, Walmart app it is. They will tell you exactly when it will arrive. So far so good, and they sell pretty much the same sh*t. But I have never been let down by THEM. POST OFFICE is another story.

Amazingly beautiful nature! So many landscape types you went through until day 39. Love being able to see it from the comfort of my complicated everyday life! And the thunder abd lightning. I still stand by the idea that one should not go up in the mountains in thunderstorms. This after having done it. Lightning is not drawn only by high points but by water. Trees are high and water filled. You are high and water filled. Even if lightning strikes are at a distane. One could very well be the thing drawing a strike and there are ZERO protected safe places. It is a very pointless death. I don't think everyone arranges their fears in the same groups. Food used to worry me a lot so I started practicing fasting. Now others are shocked by how unbothered I am with having food or not on a hike. But without water you die. Not because you are mildly dehydrated but because of the lowered resilience and the bad decisions you make when thirsty. Anyway, fear is good. Fear is what made our species successfull.

Understand what you’re talking about with the Colorado storms and lightning. Many years ago a friend and I hiked to the peak of Mt. Elbert. It began snowing,thundering and lightning near the peak. We were only interested in making it to the peak and signing the log book. At the peak our hair was standing straight up and we could hear a buzzing sound. We were laughing about it at the time until we were coming down the peak and were told that we were essentially lightning strike targets 😳. We were very lucky. Safety first! As always, thank you for taking us on your magnificent journey and for the educational information you provide along the way. Stay safe! Cheering you on from KY. 🤗

I like that you include the real and the raw with your interviews. Humans filter out the uncomfortable, which is okay if they must, but it blocks empathy and understanding. Sexual harassment comes in many forms, levels, and applies to both women and men. Gay and straight. We just had a huge storm roll through WA last night. I thought of you, looking forward to your video of the same time frame. Thinking you may have experienced it in OR. Fears- a very good analogy. Only thing is PTSD. That's a whole different world in the emotions. So hard (but not impossible!) to fight the triggers. Glad you got your shoes! What is the special headlamp? I'm very curious.
