In the old radio show, Lum & Abner were always getting into trouble and they had a very "Amos-like" friend called Dick Huddleston who was always the level-headed one, dispensing wise advice and bailing them out of trouble, just like Amos.

I just love this comedy show. I see nothing racist about it AT ALL. Pure comedy, just pure comedy. No tits and ass showing. No four letter words tripping out of peoples mouths. You find people of color being janitors, judges, policemen, every walk of life. AND the use of malapropism makes me enjoy it even more. Also seeing the characters interact naturally with people who do not look like them is even more fun. So glad to see the Amos and Andy show finally getting the respect it deserves.

“Uh, Kingfish, uh this shipment… is that the old crate that we usually have so much trouble with?” 😂 Nice when Andy catches on the code talk and doubles down on the humor after George.

The attractive lady at the beginning who was looking for a husband ---I have to laugh at that one ---was played by Theresa Harris . She played the girl friend / maid of Barbara Stanwyck in 1933s pre code movie Baby Face ,
