I don't see how anyone can not see this cast of great performers, as anything but positive, and wonderful comedy, it is much better than what we get today.

Do you think Lightning was a positive character? His role was the one that got the show taken off air. He was exact mirror of Stepin Fetchit- a reviled character in the black community.

My family and I quote lines from these 2 episodes all the time! 😆 "You get the axe and I'll get the saw, and cut off the legs of my mother-in-law...." 😂 Truly one of the best comedy series ever on TV with both great writing and even greater, *brilliant* acting. The entire team involved with the show deserves Emmys as well as any other recognition possible, even posthumously. They were early pioneers of African-American comedy. Well done, Amos 'n' Andy cast and crew! Wherever you are...thank you. ❤

I am so happy for KZbin because years ago, you actually had to wait until the next week or until the show came on again, and usually it left off when it was getting really good. Now we can watch a continuation instantly after part 1.

As a kid growing up in the fifties, I watched this show on television and considered the character Sapphire (Ernestine Wade) as most anyone else I knew, to be the old ball and chain wife. I am a much older man now and looking through these eyes now, I realize that she was actually quite attractive.

I am 70 years old and watched this show even as a kid, its funny, the actors are talented, its clean you can watch it with your entire family I am a white male with an African American wife and mixed kids my wives family all thought the show was hilarious and many of the black people I know feel the same. Thee actors all were portrayed as having homes, dressing well when going out and having good responsible jobs, No one is portrayed as stupid or lazy. The King fish is a"Character" designed to be funny no social messages here. This show was and remains classic comedy . By the way those few that were saying it makes blacks look bad should think. This show used 99% black actors in a time where work for blacks was hard to come by. No one here is an "Aunt "Jemimah" type character it was funny but showed black neighborhoods where good decent people lived and worked the only other portrayal was the King Fish character and that was intentionally overplayed strictly for comedy. There was no scenes with people yelling the "N" word, no parade of whores and drug addicts or gangsters like we see daily. The show was the best
