I remember helping my father pour our concrete back porch. At 5 am he was trilling the finish and I was there helping. That was 1960 I was 10. I have been playing around with concrete ever since. Making sprinkler donuts right now.

at that point I don't understand why you wouldnt just actually do timber frame joinery and make it stronger, better looking and not need all that hardware.

I've been thinking to do something similar to the front of one of the livestock barns, but don't you need some flashing at the top so water doesn't run down between the awning and shop wall?

Where I can get these molds to create garden beds?
A 6ft and 8ft long panels would be great for longer beds as they would be way stronger than 2 piece construction. Also I think you should make 12 Inch tall panels which would go 3 inch deep and 9 inch tall bed which is perfect dimensions for economy and depth if soil for veggies.

Great work! One thing that's really helpful when using a concrete mixer is to set up a stand fan to blow perpendicular to the drum opening. It will carry 95% of the concrete dust away from you and your lungs and makes the chore so much nicer. :)

This is wrong, those joists and all their weight are being held by screws ?? There’s no belly’s in those hangers
@MANaboutTOOLS24 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment. If I was going to do this again I would use more traditional joist hangers and notch the lower part of the rafters to fit the angle of the slope. I think that would make a stronger connection.

Great video. To avoid/prevent cracking try a longer cure time indoors in an unconditioned space.

Sir i love the osb Board staining you did. Question for you though, i want to do plywood in my shop but to allow me to put shelves and stuff anywhere on the wall instead of looking for a stud. My question is do you think osb board is strong enough to accomplish this or should i use something different?

How to remove the metal rod if I want to disassemble them?
@MANaboutTOOLSАй бұрын
You can leave the rebar sticking up a half inch or so. Then you have something to grab with pliers to pull it out later. Or, if the rod is flush with the concrete panel, try using needle nose pliers to grab it and pull.

Nice video, BUT: Most gardeners are missing the boat. Consider using discarded upright Freezers or refrigerators for a raised bed. They are just the right size for weeding and harvesting at waist height, making them ideal for wheelchair access or seniors, or those with back problems. One or a dozen, it 's up to you. It took me two weeks on Craigslist to get an even dozen boxes, and that was being picky. No stainless steel, or black refrigerators, no side-by-sides, only white boxes. They come insulated, and the type of soil they have is up to you. No more gophers, moles, rabbits, either! Just remove and discard the doors and shelves, fill and plant. Water with a garden hose, or plumb them with an irrigation system from below. Ideal for an apartment with a small patio, or a big yard. No more bending to weed! Best of all, they're free, and you keep them out of the landfill! Details to your questions if you like

Hi just recieved my forms today, i plan on stacking the panels but im concerned about the gap caused be the forms draft angle, will the space need to be filled in with adhisive in order to create a strong bond?

Hi, there's a link to the wedges in the description. Alternatively, you should be able to find these at most hardware store.

@MANaboutTOOLS Got it thanks, should I use a landscaping adhesive to join the panels?
@MANaboutTOOLSАй бұрын
@@xamu8144 I don't think that's required. But, you could do a test to see if it makes a difference.

If stacking the panels, how do you relieve the arch created by the form taper to ensure a level and square box?
