First off let me tell you this was an excellent video you're an interesting guy to listen to. That being said you spent the first 10 minutes of this video justifying your opinion I personally think that time would have been better spent going over more systems in the $2,000 price range. You should remember you can never please everybody...... keep up the good work man

I got the i9 ultra and I was impressed leave gaming behind. My main work is creating image and testing on VMware. And I see some impassive results. At first I thought without hyperthreading will make it weak but I was wrong. This was more compute powerful chip and I am happy I replaced it with my 13th gen. It runs VMware and booting 15 vms machine without switching while it was cool. Never had that with my 13th gen.

You are so right. All the negativity lately with this launch and just tech in general has made me unsub from a few channels. I get it gets views and all that but geez wheres the honesty. That's why I respect you and your channel and people who look at both sides of the coin. Was ARL launch bad? Sure, are they bad chips like some of the other reviews would have you think? Hell no especially the price to performance on the 265k.

Its interesting because when you pair these with CUDIMM they actually do keep up with the 7800X3D in games and sometimes beat it, at least according to JaysTwoCents findings. Its almost like a temporary form of 3D-v cache for Intel until they can integrate it on chip, that's what their Adamantine L4 cache was suppose to be. I would love to see you re test it with CUDIMM and once MS can patch their buggy OS for better core scheduling performance because something is messed up. I got the 265k and been loving my experience thus far, waiting for CUDIMM to be available later this month and might swap out sticks if the price isn't too crazy over regular DDR5

IMHO the main problem on youtube is: gaming, gaming, gaming and gaming. It seems to be a gaming bubble and if a CPU is not good in that particular workload it is instantly bad. Furthermore I would be interested in undervolting this 265K CPU to get an impression how efficient it can get with tuning. I am still on Zen 3 but maybe next time I will try Intel again.

When you say you are using existing tests and reviews parroting them you can presume these tests were without BIOS updates, OS that doesn't fully support, with wrong RAM that is the UDIMM 5600-6000 and the right RAM is the CUDIMM +8000, underpowered and underclocked. For 285K 5.1 E Cores/4.1 Cache for little BIOS tweak. We are not even boosting power. Old BIOS and win11. CUDIMM 8400. That's all you need tiny change on values and correct RAM. This already gives big boost and tops the charts and par on gaming without raising the temp. AMD doesn't support CUDIMM. So they are going to loose 10-15% here alone. And yet when you use the wrong RAM UDIMM's for the 285K you are trailing only 5%. Makes you wonder. This doesn't even include any BIOS tweaks and done with OS that doesn't fully support and BIOS that is far from optimal. Normally RAM has very small effect on the scores but on this CPU it gives a big performance jump adding the correct RAM. Could all this be to keep the MB manufacturing in check after the 13th and 14th fail on ASUS boards. Irony is that most of the tests are with ASUS and very poor performance and when using their "Extreme" profile very small change only on performance but lot of heat frying the CPU. I think it is done to expose what really happened without having to point fingers. Only handful of 285K's were sold and now out of stock. So it was only promotional and most are on hands of testers and reviewers. From MSI board the scores were higher. So what next? 9800X3D is just about to be launched. What I see the predictions are that it will top the gaming charts. Will it? What I see 285K at this point will be on par. Why? Because when you claim something great it always disappoints. So I predict it will fall back a bit and 285K will only get stronger. I think we see a second launch for the 285K with lifted performance and OS that is up to date. Also has to be pointed out that if you run the test as administrator your scores are lot lower and not giving the truthful score. Also as i9-14900K is almost at the max from the box there is lot of room for overclocking on Arrow Lake. I have to point that it seems the Arrow Lake is designed to INTEL ARC on mind. CUDIMM already will give a good boost, strong E Cores that will overclock easily, PCIe 5.0 direct access to CPU as REBAR on steroids. All INTEL system $500-1000 cheaper and 5080 performance. APO to the mix. Instead pointing out that there is only little difference between 265K and 285K I see INTEL is sandbagging.

I enjoyed the VRLA unboxing stream. I would like to add some constructive criticism regarding their custom PC builder. I have bought several PC's from custom SI's and always expect the exact models of the components to be specified. B650 MoBo covers a lot of models with greatly varying I/O, VRM quality, etc. This is critical. The NvME SSD models/speed also vary wildly. Brae said he got a nice KC3000 but for all we know we might get a Crucial P3 unless otherwise stated. Listing RAM latency would be nice but that can be researched. I always pick a top tier PSU and, as Brae noted, you have no real idea what you will be getting. This is, as I said, constructive criticism. I enjoy working with custom PC builders and have used them for my last 3 purchases. I would hesitate to pull the trigger on a purchase while having so many unanswered questions.

The naming should be way different too i agree. They could even make a play on the legacy names.. ex.. Px8x (P for Pentium) So, first X would be the generaton, like the x86 and the 2nd x the grade of CPU. ex: i3 = p181 i5 = p183 i7 = p185 i9 = p189 So now if we don't call i3, i5, i7 and i9 only the full CPU nomenclature, we would always know what generation and grade of CPU we have, like in the past, 386, 486, Pentium 1, Pentium 2.. etc.

People don't get! If we take a look at Intel and AMD history, the one who always focus on performance at all cost was AMD (and price in the past too). Intel focus always was about renewing they're tech. Some times it came with more performance than AMD, other times more efficiency. Granted on 2010s, Intel and AMD lost they're focus but now it's back to both company legacy. I don't get why people ignore efficiency, it's a HUGE step forward, but you you want full performance at all cost, go AMD.
