I think I would check the starter dog clutch first - might have to drain the oil and take off a few engine covers on the right side. A Haynes manual will be invaluable for you

Hey Gavin, I'm about to do a gearbox repair and will be using your video as guidance for engine/gearbox removal and installation. That special socket you show at 4:58, where can I get one of those? Or what's the name of it so I can Google it and find it? Appreciate the video by the way!
@yeogav7 ай бұрын
For the swingarm spindal adjustment rings I made x2 tools like that from scaraficial sockets. I ground down the edges to create the toothed or forked end to slot into the tightening rings. One was a 24mm socket. The larger one for outer ring. Is about 36mmID and 44mmOD. I think I bought the actual tool for that but it was still wrong and had to cut the teeth to correct size with a grinder. I addition I used Haynes manual and other youtube videos or groups to find more info on tools and tips. I'd recommend taking notice of the spacers between engine and frame. Bag them up with notes, so you dont forget what goes where on the rebuild. Good luck

What are rhe dimensions of those projectors? I've been looking at different sizes, I'm concerned that rhe 2.5" projectors will be too long and hit the headlight lense when installing?

My triumph is not starting, it’s just cranking. I’ve replaced spark plugs, checked fuel filter, replaced oil and oil filter, swapped a new battery. When I turn the ignition and flip the kill switch, I can hear fuel getting squirted into the engine. I checked all of the wires and plugs, nothing looks out of the ordinary. Please help me. I’m at a someplace loss as to why the bike won’t start. I just purchased it and have only ridden it for two days.
@retro101gamer Жыл бұрын
Well the fact it'd cranking is good but could be all manner of things. Have you tried cranking it with a plug out or resting on the something to see if there is a spark? Checking fuses etc? Have you a Haynes manual?

@yeogav Жыл бұрын
It didn't let go, was something I did in an attempt to remove a weird transmission noise. Still makes the same noise now, but at least I know the engine, gearbox and clutch are kosher and good to go.

is that trex600 rotorhead? appearently bottom flybar
@yeogav3 жыл бұрын
Yeah forgot I did that. Its not a trex head but actually a Thunder Tiger upgrade you could buy. I have sold the heli and can't remember the exact name of the head. But they're like hens teeth to find now!! Underslung flybar yes. Linkage is different to stock. Everything was 90degrees out on its first spool up. It toppled and dug a trench in the grass. Only 1 set of blades damaged luckily. Flew lovely once I corrected the phase input / linkage 😆

Vidéo intéressante, mais attention le dernier disque d'embrayage est mal positionné, il ne doit pas être dans l'alignement des autres!

Yes I spotted that. The clutch has since been opened again. The last clutch plate has now been re aligned to the correct position.

Hi, excellent stuff! I just finished doing the same recently there was a crack in the bottom half of the engine and the pistons were stuck so had to pull the engine apart and fix this. I was wondering, any chance you could show how to tighten the engine bolts in the frame once the engine is back in? I've got mine into the frame and everything is finger tight but I know you have to check for space and add spacers etc and follow a particular sequence but I'm not too sure of the procedure. Any help would be very helpful! Thanks!
@yeogav3 жыл бұрын
Satisfying when it's all back together and runs. As for the spacers, I just noted where they came from and put em back. I put everything in loosely first, then tightened the rear lower frame bolt first to clamp the frame (spacer on front chain sprocket side) and then the swingarm bolt, then the front ones then finally the top engine mounts. Look up world of triumph spares and you will find exploded drawings to see which bolts have the spacers. Hope that helps

Hi there! Is there any way you could upload a video showing all the wire connections on the engine? I ran into a wiring problem on my speed triple and that would really help!!
@reedwortman83553 жыл бұрын
@@yeogav well, I recently put a whole new engine in, and I’m thinking that some connector might be in the wrong spot. When the key is turned, the lights come on, blinkers work, brights work, but the dash does not light up nor does the fuel pump prime.
@yeogav3 жыл бұрын
@@reedwortman8355 well as luck would have it I still have the reference videos I made for myself, of wiring and Connector position. They're not pretty videos and will need a lot of pausing as the video is all over the place. I can slap em up for you if you haven't sorted already?
Nice work! Did you have to fully remove the swing arm bolt or just loosen it?
@yeogav3 жыл бұрын
Just loosened it to allow the frame to open a smidgen and let the engine drop down. The gearbox end did catch on the rubber cap that goes on the end outside face of the swing arm. Just needed a wipe of WD / oil then the engine slid past it no probs when re assembling, jacking the engine back up into position.

Yeah too freaking heavy to lift once its all built and didn't want it falling off onto my toes lol. Almost made a mid level bench from spare wood laying around, but opted for a floor build on a piece of wood with casters 🤪👍🏻🍺

Can't remember. Sold the chopper some time ago. But you need to have a decent smoke trail otherwise its running too lean and will overheat + damage the bore/piston.

We have been approached by the British Forces Broadcasting Service for a series of filmed interviews about this project. They would like to use some of your excellent film in their broadcast and would like your permission. Is that ok?
