Dear sis, you have been missed. Rest in peace for the furry heart. Please do not apologise. Life happens. In Malaysia and parts of SEA, the traditional fields have waterways instead of pathwalks. They help to keep the soil moistured and easy to water the vegetables. We walked on the edge of the beds with all the waterways connecting and help with the water access be it in supplying or draining the water. When we were little, we would always sneek to go to play with the water and sometimes fall into them. Our mum would be upset with us and ask if we would do it again tomorrow. Obviously we were smart enough to say no but we would do it again the next day! If you are going to have more rain, a higher beds with better drainage system would be recommended. Even our fields get flooded sometimes and most green leaves vegetable would suffer in the monsoon season. The Bangladeshi bhai would plant in our field vegetable plants like long beans, cucumbers, okras, eggplants during the monsoon as they are kinda more vertical plants and are higher from the water level. I am looking forward to seeing both of your gardens. Take care and ❤. P.s. Instead of walking on the muddy drains, you can use planks to connect the beds or longers planks to walk above the drains. Call it your mini bridge!
