I always say I will get a pipe before i die...I wasnt sure what pipe i would want? Till I saw Cornish bag pipe video, why i havent seen anyone playing it? At session ( Cornish session or any session)😢..I have to do more research and hear more sound..i need to make things happen.

Why i havent seen such thing even i live in Cornwall? Which country does this belong to? I love this sound of pipe.

Thanks for this. James Grosart was my Great Great Great Grandfather. My mother told me about him, and she had a copy of his book.

What a blast from the past! The Whistler and His Dog used to be on the radio all the time when I was growing up...

As a Highland bagpipe player, I was aware of Northumbrian and Uillean pipes and even versions in Brittany and the BAsque COuntry, but not these. Very intriguing.

hi i have a Persian bagpipe which is a sheep skin I think. I can not find any instructions on the internet about how to look after it also no teacher available. do i have to oil the skin from outside as well? sheep skin is not as thick as cow skin. can i apply your instructions to my bagpipe? when i got it in the post it was a bit oily and very soft but now is becoming so dry. I am concern that it becomes too hard so i placed it in a plastic bag. then i got worried it can become mouldy so i am keeping my instrument in the fridge until i get some advice.

Have you uploaded a video of you playing your border pipes (which are modeled on the 18th-century set in the collection of the National Piping Centre Museum, Glasgow)?
@dbadagna25 күн бұрын
Is this similar to the Grosser Bock?

It sounds almost as low as a large gran zampogna.

They are splendid instruments, but they are only Cornish because Mr Goodacre copied them from a benchend carving in Altarnun Church.

Wonderful instruments. They are like British cousins of the zampogna.

He makes it look so easy, I almost think I could do it. Ha- I'm not fooled - I'm much better off watching a craftsman. Thanks for the video.

they sound real nice. How much are they? Can you make them bellows blown? (I've taken lessons on uilleann and am teaching myself border pipes)

I am the fighting-rooster-proud steward of a magnificent Leicestershire smallpipe with chanters in D and C. I am able to personally testify about the incredible stability and longevity of Julian's reeds. My D reed is in its fourteenth year, and my C reed is in its seventh. Neither has ever needed any adjustment at all. They just keep getting easier to play. As Ferris Bueller famously said, "It is SO choice!"
