The owner is the obvious problem. “Good girl (name).” Owner is reassuring her that her bad behavior is good. Some people should not own horses.
@RockinJFarrier2 күн бұрын
The teenage girl is not the owner. The lady videoing is talking to my dog who is barking. Hard to know all that is going on. I didn't know she was videoing. decided to put it up after she sent it.

@RockinJFarrier2 күн бұрын
Not my first thought. But the plain truth. I've been shoeing and then only trimming him for the las 12 years., Because he was 30 and they were going to put him down before next winter because he had a rough last winter.

This is such. Bad experience for this horse. The owner should have handled it more. Bad Bad farrier.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The owner doesn't know what to do. The horse was training them. You get under one of these!!! You'll change your oppinion.The horse was not kicking when I was done and was trimmed. RJF

This is a 2 year old that hadn't been trimmed or had her feet picked up all winter. You handle 17 in a day and deal with this on the last one, then see how you are doing.

What would you do if it tried to kick you while trimming it's feet. Have you been kicked? I'm trimming it for the owner. I don't beat them, or drug them, I teach them. You obviously have never been around an animal that can kick you and break your leg.

I love the way you don’t get crazy with the detail trimming. I do it the same way, my grandpa taught me, you’re just quicker. We mostly rode horses barefoot and he always shaped them good and lightly trimmed the sole and said next. He even had us go out on the pavement for a piece at a light trot and said “there’s your trim”.Never had a lame horse.
@RockinJFarrier7 күн бұрын
Thanks, In Rocky country the sole will trim it's self. Otherwise they are lame. Thanks for your input. RJF
@calvinbass18398 күн бұрын
I have found that if people know you can do this, they expect you to do it rather than spend the time training their horse. Taking up more of my time & energy. Not to mention they're made if the horse gets banged up. Yes, some will blow up. But all in all an excellent technique to know. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day.
@RockinJFarrier7 күн бұрын
There is a fine line. Most owners can't train them, and end up teaching bad habits. If I shoe them regular it makes them better for me next time. Still shoe this horse. Thanks for your comments. You have a blessed Day as well.
