I fish open water , with a motor . I used Innovative's motor mount, so I knew the quality was great. When it came to rock guards, I hesitated. I am out in 40 feet of water. Motors are expensive gear and I tend to be careful so I ordered the rock guard. At the very least , I thought it would offer protection landing my Kayak in the shallows. I was wrong. This year I found myself fishing rock jetties, very shallow! The guards totally saved my motor and prop. Worth every penny! The other surprise for me, was Innovative foot controls. Freeing up both hands and steering with your feet may seem a luxury, but fishing Bay structure like bridge pylons you will get a lot of strong current. Handling with a fish on, you have both hands free for the throttle or a net and a rod. It also pays dividends getting out snagged lines. These accessories were easy installs and I can't say enough about their effectiveness.

@@juancanon1459 we should have the 1436 back in stock in November. The only change will be that the front of the kayak will be scooped higher to handle rougher water better.

I plan on running a 2.5 motor . I would like to run a 3, 3.5 but Im concerned about cracking the transom, would this disperse the power enough to run a 3HP ,3.5 Hp?

This mount was made to distribute the weight and power of the Torqeedo 1103 Horsepower motor without causing damage to the transom.

When we created this plate there was no way to mount a Torqeedo on the stern of a Nucanoe kayak. We solved this issue for our customers.

I am not seeing a rock guard for the 403 Ultralight on your website?? Apparently we CAN use this one on the Newport NK180 with a slight adjustment of the fork.

What is the steel wire you used to feed through the kayak? I'm about to start an install of tubing but having trouble finding anything to help me feed through yhe yak.

The wire is brace wire for fencing. You can get it at any farm supply store.

I like what you made the plate out of, but not sold on using plastic screws to hold the mount down. I thought Hobie had brass inserts molded into the kayak. I just dont trust screws in plastic. There's lots of torque on that plate.

The Hobie Pro Angler kayaks before 2020 had brass inserts. After that they went to plastic screws. The torque is mostly on the H-Bar Clamps. We’ve never had an issue with the screws.

The clamps are not available anywhere. We make those for our plates. The plate is 1/4” aluminum.

Will setting up the power poles like this keep you locked into position where the nose of the hobie wont move at all?

In theory yes but only to the capability of the Micro Power Pole Anchors. A lot of things play a factor in this like wind, current and the bottom substrate of the body of water.

That would probably help since they are farther a part and also they are more towards the middle of the boat which would also help, and also better just in case you need access to them. I do not but you have to get real creative to get the tubing through the hull. It is possible we have done a few.

Where does the steering locking pin go? My 1103 AC installation requires the steering triangle to be locked in place. This is a far better triangle than Torqeedo's and I'd like to buy one, but I need the locking pin.

Thank you for your question. We made this product to be used to steer the kayak not to lock it in place. We will be making a steering lock later this year for the Torqeedo Ultralight motors. Stay tuned.

One of the biggest problems with the Torqeedo triangle is that the locking pin can ultimately fracture the plastic and then the motor can no longer be used on installations where it must remain locked. This can be a major issue. I look forward to a solution.

There are many differecnces. The main difference is that this mount is made of 5052 aircraft aluminum that has an exceptional resistance to sea water. That paired with the powder coated finish makes it very corrosion resistant and less bulky than plastic mounts. All of the holes are tapped so there is less hardware and it is easier to install.

I like this idea better than using the screw to expand the end as shown in other videos. You also had a special tool you made to mushroom the ends. I liked that better. I just wished this method came out before I installed my tubing. I used the screw method. It was a challenge expanding the end of the tubing enough to have enough tubing to mushroom. Thanks for sharing. I would have definitely used this method. Best so far. Thanks

Really liked the idea of your front anchor. I used the 1/4-20 eyelet and there seemed to be quite a bit of resistance. Put a carabiner in the eyelet and attached a small pulley to the carabiner. Really worked well and no friction. I don't know if you are still answering questions or not but was that bow fishing line you used instead of cable on the foot control? Thanks. Some great ideas. That is a custom piece we made of delrin. You can get it in different sizes on Amazon. We made it so it would fit snug in the scupper and the cover on top pulls it up to keep it tight or the boat.

There is no aditional mount for a trolling motor. This mount simply puts the "4 bolt pattern on the back of the kayak for a Torqeedo motor, Micro Power Pole or a Newport Vessels NK180 motor.
