thanks for the video. Do you think that a similar set up with a Torqeedo 1003 might work for a Hobie quest 11? (I have both so I am wondering if it worth the try or it is an overkill and will render uncontrollable)

The 1003 is still a lightweight motor. It should work for your setup. You will have to get creative with setting up the mount.
