Pffffff very much talking while the dog is out of control. Showing how to do it, is more likeful…in my opinion.

29:22 Sorry I missed you, I'll catch you next time. My husband grew up in Romania and had CAUCASIAN SHEPHERDS. They used to protect the sheep and shepherds from wolves and bears. Very independent and fierce. You would know there are a lot of Romanian rescue dogs and the shepherds are losing their grazing rights so not doing it anymore. His uncle still breeds Bucovina Shepherds, his dog had 13 puppies and they were all spoken for. Love your work, Sarah ❤

When my dog was a puppy she would nip us constantly, my partner was (and still is ) a complete walkover to her. I would do the old chewy toy trick on her and she soon stppped...on me. Old Mr Walkover was covered in teeth cuts and scratches. I have been very unwell lately and he has had more time with the dog than I have, thankfully not biting, but alot of my hard work has gone out of the window very quickly. I'm gonna get back in control soon, do you have training classes for men that haven't got a clue? By the way she still doesn't misbehave to me, but she runs circles around him including humping him occasionally, I'm at my wits end.

Canned air spray works better. Not going to lie, dealing with so many off leash dogs ( even susceesfully ) while trying to be explorers ( 14 miles a day ) has broken me, i have norder terrier who dont take shit and trying to work on it has backfired vecause of having to avoid or shout down 100s of dogs this year

My cane corso would rather run away than stand and fight... she's more like a Labrador in temperament shes gentle and calm ...I do agree with the negative side of over breeding as its becoming more popular but thats the same with Frenchies cocker poos etc and TBF most of the time I get trouble walking my dogs is from spoilt little dog's with no dog manners at all

This is a great way to do this, however if you reinforce the desired behavior with a tiny treat every time you get the desired behavior, then the end result will happen little bit faster.

I just inherited a 3yo Mountain Cur that pulled like crazy. All I had to do was take that stupid prong collar off of him and move the lead behind his ears. Less than a week he walks on both sides of me and between my legs with zero tension on the lead, I’m his lead now. Prong and shock collars should be banned. If you think you need them for training, you shouldn’t own a dog.

Any tips for an 10 m.o intact male who understands leash pressure (have been training like this in low distraction environments for 2 weeks and he knows what he needs to do) but ignores it to sniff and scent all the time? Have incorporated a go sniff command to try and make it so that he is only allowed to do it when I allow, and sometimes this works but when training progresses he gets bored of listening and would rather sniff (he has excellent food drive but will ignore for sniffing when REALLY distracted)

Does anyone remember the days when dogs used to take themselves for a walk? We lived in high rise flats and the dog downstairs used to go for a run around the local park and wait for someone to get in the lift when he got home, everyone knew what floor he had to get out. I was terrified of dogs as a kid, there used to be some fights in that park😢❤

Move your feet, and be ready to swap your lead from one hand to the other to lead your dog; your body should always be between the two dogs. Don’t just shuffle, be mentally and physically DETERMINED. That other dog WILL NOT get to your dog, because YOU WILL NOT ALLOW IT. That’s how I handle stuff like that at least… hope it maybe helps! Take care

@@i4nc4 You do realize many people fight better than you and will hurt both you and your dog. Not to mention in the eyes of the law you will still be the one in trouble. The reason I said invest in the muscle is because you obviously don't have control of your dog and you need to go through a lot of training. In the meantime the muzzle will keep you and your dog safe. I know when a strange dog approaches me and my three pitbulls I just tell them to sit while i push away the other dog. My dogs are required to obey my command at all times regardless of the situation.

Just to get screamed at by the owner and accused of kicking their dog.?? My social anxiety can't handle that. Not all dog owners are reasonable people. My mum's sweet little terrier cross almost got 💀 by another dog. The owner refused to admit her dog had done the damage and tried to claim my mum's dog must have run into a stick. There was blood everywhere. My dad's aluminium walking stick bent in half because that's how hard he had to hit the dog to make it let go of my mum's dog. My parents are in their 70's and we're both extremely shaken up by the whole event.

In this scenario all i need to do is tell my boy to leave it n he will walk right past it. Hes only allowed to interact with other dogs when i allow him to, not on his own accord. Only thru communication with other owner that they are happy to allow interaction then do i allow my dog to interact. I need to know what their dogs mindset is like first. Are theirs super protective or not. Owners allowing their dogs to interact with random strangers dog is what sets iff unnecessary dog fights. One always gets hurt or mauled thru owner ignorance or lavk of understanding

Most common problem is inexperienced owners using harness incorrectly. The lead is so far back in the pull tow me position n they get dragged by the dog. No control whatsoever. They cannot do lead up because with harness they literally be trying to pick up the whole dog essentially.

Having re looked at the this, someone tell me why the staffie owner pulled it's collar off and let it go? It was clearly loose enough to do that easily so this is now starting to look either staged or a bet was placed on the rottie and staff fight
