It's spring on the island The ice is in the bay And the weather's getting warmer now Soon be drifting away The boys are out troutin' Or they're going on a tear It's spring on the island I wish I was there Ah this boom town's got me down I don't know why I came It must have been the money though It works out just the same No matter how much I make I spend as fast as I can make it And if I could afford a plane trip out Tomorrow, I'd take it I wish I had the money back I spent on all that beer Though God knows it's the only thing Made it worth staying here But more than the money Wish I had the time I let Slip by me now, there's more than one way To get into debt Ah they say that time is money Well I think it's more than that I'll always have my pay cheque Never get my time back So it's time and a half or double time Well I think it's a crime And sometimes I think they're paying me For wasting my time It's spring on the island The ice is in the bay And the weather's gettin' warmer now Soon be drifting away The boys are out troutin' Or they're going on a tear It's spring on the island I wish I was there

The song is a re-working of the Irish song "The Craic Was 90 (In The Isle Of Man)". Here's a quick crack at the lyrics, with many missing. I am very thankful for the memories captured in the 2nd part of this video. My husband and I enjoyed our outing in 2009 very much.... catching a huge halibut on a hand line (2, actually!), lots of fish, and even seeing a sunfish!!!! (Skipper guessed it was 500 lb and it was only the 2nd one he had ever seen). My husband has since passed but this video is a beautiful reminder to me of the trip we had together in NL! ❤

I'm in the uk, and absolutely adore Mink. Although an invasive species, they have established here now, and should be now left alone. . Iike other invasive species, like crayfish, the green Indian ringneck parakeets of Hyde Park, in London, Grey Squirrels, and an American species of snake that established in North Wales. Mink are wrongly blamed for all sorts of decline of particular Mammals in the UK. . Namely the water vole, whose demise is not solely down to the Mink, who unlike us cannot go to Tesco for their next meal! The decline of Water Voles is mostly down to MAN, for taking many of the voles natural habitats away.. (Which has been proven many times over.) If you spot a Mink, leave it, they are beautiful mustelids, who haven't done a thing to any of us personally, and have EVERY right to a life as much as any other of God's living creatures. Thank you.
