I got one of those watches the other day and I am very happy with it but the only thing is that it doesn’t have spotify for music on it. It would be really nice to have Spotify on these smart watches too with out the need of a phone

Agreed, music and text message replies are the things that I miss about the Apple Watch. Otherwise, these Garmin watches generally meet and exceeded every expectation over the Apple Watch.

Is the Tactix 7 watch bezel scratched? Can it be polished and left titanium gray?

It wasn’t scratched in the video, however, I’m not sure how well polishing would buff out scratches. I have a few on the black bezel of the Fenix they are now part of its character haha! Thanks for watching!

Hard to find a vid accurately detailing the caffeine content on these drink enhancers. Honestly feels like their super slept on in media despite how dirt cheap they are and how high their caffeine content is. At this point, it’s cheaper than coffee, and easier to make and take on the go
@TheOutdoorWorkshopАй бұрын
Yeah, it’s really hit or miss on a lot of the drinks. I definitely prefer coffee on the trail much more than flavored energy powdered drinks. I really just wanted to throw it together The video comparing taste as a back up to the primary coffee if needed a pick me up in the middle of the day. Luckily, it seems as time goes on. There are healthier options out there for energy boost over the powdered individual packets.

I ordered the same watch on Amazon and guess what is was missing. Someone took the watch out with accessories. I was waiting all day and met the Amazon guy and signed for the box. Opened it and I knew something was wrong because it felt light. Now it’s going to take 5-7 days to get my money back.

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully you were able to get a replacement. I do appreciate that about Amazon, whenever there’s a problem I can normally get it solved as opposed to dealing with some smaller companies. Thanks for watching!

Does these 2L make any difference? Wanted 34, got 32 by mistake. I really want as much space as possible but 34 is not available now. Dimensions are almost the same. Is it possible that some of these 2L are in the mesh pocket on the outside?
@TheOutdoorWorkshop4 ай бұрын
There really isn’t too much of a difference when you look at the main compartment size. I don’t think it’s reflected in the dimensions as it’s probably just a little more fabric length that gives the extra depth. When packing both, I can’t really tell a difference. Either way they’re both solid choices!

Can anyone tell me the difference between tactix 7 (the best variant , I think 7 pro ) and tactix delta ?
@TheOutdoorWorkshop4 ай бұрын
Garmin Tactix 7 offers a modern design with a touchscreen, enhanced tactical features, an integrated flashlight, and updated health monitoring. Garmin Tactix Delta lacks the flashlight and touchscreen, featuring traditional button controls, classic tactical features, but still has comprehensive mapping and navigation tools. Both watches are built to military standards and share many tactical features, but the Tactix 7 introduces newer technologies and conveniences.

@TheOutdoorWorkshop4 ай бұрын
Totally agree. I’m sure it would drastically cut down on the battery life, but it would be a great added feature. That is probably the only thing I miss when comparing to the Apple Watch…. Maybe some other application integrations too, but some of the major things that make it stand apart from the Apple Watch or what keep me wearing it. Thanks for watching!

I grabbed a TicWatch and I love it. I'm going to send it back though because the new Galaxy is about to drop and it integrates so well with my Galaxy phone and it's amazing. been loking for the perfect hike/camera bag, found out this range this week. Really like the Recon, just afraid it wont fit a camera bag/cube, if it has a flat bottom for it..
@TheOutdoorWorkshop6 ай бұрын
Yeah the recon will likely be a little tight for camera gear, especially with a cube and hiking gear. The borealis has bit more space in the main compartment, though less organization… which could be mitigated with some cube organizers. God luck in the search!

@TheOutdoorWorkshop6 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yeah I also normally wear the 7x pro sapphire on my day to day and utilize a lot of the convenient features that come with the high price tag. I could probably get away with the features on this one as my day to day, but having the 7x would miss a lot of the upgrades. This one is still a solid go-to when I want something lighter to bang around on the trail.

I carried a Sawyer in the small and medium version for over 500 miles. I saw many people using the Katadyn Hiker Pro. Yea it weights another 8 ounces but I can pump filtered water into my backpack bladder bag and fill a Smart Bottle in less than 5 minutes from any water souce. The Sawyer needs much more water and it usually took me 20-25 minutes to open my pack and fill my water up. Time is miles is daylight is hiking.

In theory, it should work, after using it a few times I ended up going back to the ballistic Calculator app that I was using prior to purchasing this watch. It had a lot more features available and was easier to input custom data when working up loads.

Would this watch be able to give me good enough navigation though a ultra marathon?
@TheOutdoorWorkshop8 ай бұрын
I would not recommend this for navigation during a marathon. I think the Fenix or forerunner would have much more capable navigation features. The Fenix has fully loaded topo maps and turn by turn navigation, which is lacking in this model.

This video was great and helpful as I'm looking at purchasing the Instinct 2 solar. Question for anyone, do you find this is watch works well for doing 3-15 mile runs? My old Garmin watch used primarily for running tracked what I needed (mostly distance, time, intervals) and that's what I'm looking for as well in the Instinct 2. Thanks
@TheOutdoorWorkshop7 ай бұрын
Thanks! I would say if you’re looking for a solid basic watch that tracks a lot of your statistical data, This is a good one to go with. But if you’re looking for more advanced features and specific route tracking, this probably isn’t the ideal one. There are a lot of better options for running, but this is a great blend between ruggedness / battery life / basic sport tracking. if you’re just looking for distance time and intervals, this should definitely be good enough!

Absolutely agree, the battery life alone is huge when compared to other smart watches. And that’s just the beginning of what sets it apart.
