Bad radial runout on 2 of mine and I’m meticulous about 5k rotates and perfect psi. I check it every month. They are super quiet, wear decently and are great in the winter ice/snow but I can’t buy the AT4W due to the weight and the runout on my AT3W. Will be going with Cooper Rugged Treks next month.

The MT sidewall is not at all as robust as BF KO2/3. You are an id iot to gloss over that.

Shooooooot I may have messed up! 😂 Just bought some 285/70r17 KO3s for my new to me 2015 F150. The trim is lariat and came with 20s 275/55r20. I bought some 17inch wheels with a zero offset and may end up with the tires crashing into the vehicle 😂 I think the factory offset on these is +44 🤦♂️

TFL just tested both of these tires and in snow, the Falken needed 2x as much distance to stop. Think about that. So don’t believe all these fanboys. Oh and my KO2s do just fine in the rain.

Is that common practice to throw the heavy tire on the finished side of the rim and possible put scuffs in the paint or is this just done on cheap rims? Even though it is rubber some tires are very heavy and can mark up a painted finish just like some moron who uses a impact wrench and puts paint chips in the rim.

I've had these tires 275-70R18 for just over 1 year now, with roughly 35,000 miles. Obviously a lot of highway miles but still A LOT of constant, rough off road miles. I have a 2012 F150 STX 4X4 and I make it do truck shit in the mountains. Right off the bat...do i recommend these tires....sure. Have they plowed through mud, rocks, snow and cars driving slow in the left lane...definitely. Have i gotten stuck in some bad situations...yes. Multiple times. Have some of those times been more my fault than theirs...yeah. They do well enough on snowy pavement. I live in northern Utah so they saw alot of that. I've never heard any road noise coming from them. Their biggest problem is snow. Once they lose their grip and spin and sink just a little, get out and dig some room to get traction, if you don't, you're going to have a really bad fucking day. Same goes for loose sandy types of soil. They don't really do well with that. Other than that, they've been reliable. They'll crawl over large sharp rocks you find on backcountry roads no problem. Again no noise, no wobble and i never rotated them. If i did, maybe I could get more out of them, but they have reached the end of road....pun intended. I'm most likely to get another set. The quality for the price ratio is pretty good.

big fan of Falken street tires but off road not so much. The AT/4 is not as good in the dirt/mud as the AT/3 was and my first three trips to the KAT, Georgia Traverse and Hurricane Creek, the KO3 has had better traction in the loose dirt and mud than the Falkens I just swapped out. I'm driving an old school leaf spring/V8/manual trans truck. Traction is a lot harder to come by regardless. I do think the Falkens are better on the road. But I don't push my old Dodge hard on the hwy so its not as big a deal.

I feel that many do not understand the aspect ratio or second number on a metric tire size. All I hear about is the tire width IE 265 or 285, but they will rarely give the second number or aspect ratio to that tire width. I almost always prefer a skinnier tire, while I do have some rigs with 35x12.5’s and 33x12.5’s I would much rather have some 34x9.5 or 10.5’s instead. Or in metric, 255/85 vs a 285/65. Simply for fitment issues, a taller tire that is narrower will fit better than the same height tire that’s wide almost every time. I think people just want the look of wide tall tires.

I’m in the market for new tires. Here’s the situation…I have a 2019 Chevy Tahoe Z71. 265/R65/18 Goodyear duratrac tires. Last year I replaced two of the tires because they were in bad shape. (Apparently the dealership didn’t balance correctly-not sure). In any case I have two almost new tires and two that now need to be replaced. Problem is that the duratracs that I have are now discontinued. The Duratrac RTs have replaced them. Would it be acceptable to mix the original two Duratracs with the RTs? Or should I replace all four? And should I stick with Goodyear or change? I’m in Louisiana so it’s a lot of wet city roads. I do have BFG KO3s on my Jeep, but I’m not sure if that’s a good choice for the Tahoe. Any input is appreciated.

Never trust a tire with tread glued on (wildpeaks) ko3s are injection molded. I've had bfs in 2 ft of wet snow. Deep mud and rocks. Bfg makes a fantastic tire. If you want squared glued on tires go ahead get the at4ws.
