Last week I bought a pair of Yaktrax walkers for £1.50, brand new in the box with a free dusty cobweb inside it was so long since someone had opened the box - £19.95 new price.

Those bright vases in BHF are Poole Pottery and the lidded one is a ginger jar. Value online of around £70-90, so £35 was quite reasonable. The other one is a Galaxy Lava vase and was reasonably priced with online value of around £40.

Your charity shops are expensive compared to Essex. I’m all for the charity making as much as money as possible but they seem to be putting a lot on mass production items.

I live in charity shops plus work in one and its my hobby and one of lifes love ❤ I have a certain style in clothes and charity shops offer that to me much more than non charity shops. X

I’m waiting a bit longer before trawling through the local shops, I think many folks haven’t donated yet cos of the weather. However, there was a meme going round before Xmas asking folk to donate toys before Xmas to help other families out, so that may made a difference. Great video Julie and love the hair...on another matter, I wonder if people have 'fallen out ' with charity shops a bit and are not donating as much for several reasons. 1) They have got very picky about what they will and will not accept. 2) Some charity shops are so full of stuff becasuse they haven't sold it that they are not accepting donations at all (which is mildly annoying if you have lugged loads of stuff with you only to be turned away. 3) Charity shops are charging such ridiculous prices that it makes people think "maybe I can sell this on what ever platform..." and 4) We keep reading about the wages that the C.E.O's of the charities (at the top) are getting. and finally 5) We keep hearing/reading about people who have worked in the charity field who have been done for fraud and theft from said charities. I used to think this was a small problem but recently I have read about one or two charoties PER WEEK where this has happened. I am not saying that all charities are tarred with the same brush - and there are some fabulous volunteers in these places - but one bad apple can stick in the minds of people who want to donate...I could be wrong on all counts these are just my personal thoughts on the matter. Feel free to disagree...that's what KZbin is great for allowing...opinions!!

I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...

Some of the prices were ridiculous. I would have bought those eggs. What a shame the big globe had damage, it was stunning.

Great video! I agree with you about personal safety concerns, especially when traveling, getting robbed on vacation is painful enough, but getting robbed with an authentic bag is even worse. To me, it makes sense to travel with a fake kislux bag and not carry any valuables that you would miss. Also, if your bag gets damaged by dust, stains, accidents, whatever it is, it doesn't matter even if it's fake.

I often get dirty looks and the cashier telling me what a bargain I've got. It's really disgusting. These charity shops get piles of donations so much so that there are often notices declining more donations. They cannot sell enough and stop the landfill pile. If I go in as a reseller, i should be treated like any other customer. I am also helping sales for the shop as well as 2nd hand market. Anything that doesn't go to landfill is a positive thing for us all

I have never seen such a big array of hard goods in a charity shop. Ours are much much smaller with one small wall of hard goods - jealous!

RE jewellery - get a jewellers loup - a magnifying glass - and start by just looking at the silver and gold coloured jewellery for any marks. Silver will be marked Sterling or 925. Gold is marked with the carat, eg 9 or 14. You can whip through a display quite quickly and it is a good start to jewellery searching

As soon you showed the box, I knew which seller it was from! 😅 I have purchased some identical items from the same seller, they do great prices. I’m also reselling some of mine, so fingers crossed we both do well! ❤
