That's a lie. They are slow. I mean, if you grease them up like crazy, then yeah, they'll be somewhat good. Yellow jackets are better way better especially if you get the titanium ceramic hybrids

I have seen many people that shoot short screws through the plate into the sole! Then remove them and the holes are marked and somewhat predrilled as well!

To me the break off tool is the most animalistic way of doing it! I use a Dremel with a 3/8 metal cut off wheel an I bring it down flush with the Kep nut!!

Hi, this is actually one of the best videos I've seen of a plate installation, of the nearly dozen I've watched. May I ask where you got the tool to break the bolts, and what kind of metal/bolts those were? I tried stainless, and that could not be bent like that, haha. Youre also the only one to use washers betweem the plate and keps nuts, and I wish I came across your video for that first, to avoid the scuffs on the plate.

That was really interesting! I was recently wondering if it was possible to remove the plate to clean up underneath... but I had no idea how it was even mounted!

Some lower end skates have the plate riveted on! But if bolted you can remove them!

Awesome video I was looking at a similar one for jam dance skating but they have cast aluminum plates think they are right around 200. Price point been along time since I skated and skates have changed alot. From just a leather boot.

Just got a pair and they actually don't have a left or right so the velcro enclosure is on the same side for each pad hence some of the confusion thinking that the wrong leg is being demonstrated here. Edit: NM, I think I got sent 2 of the same side knee pads as the elbow pads have different sides. For me, the inner velcro scrap is a major PITA to fasten if you try to do it while placed normally on the knee. Instead, I'd recommend starting to strap it on at the level of the calf so you have enough slack to work with (if you're in between sizes and bordering on too small like me), face the velcro to the front so you can see what you are fastening, and then rotate the pad as you move it upward onto the knee. Everyone's physique is different but, even with my thick thighs, I found the top velcro strap to be ridiculously long. It is elastic but isn't held on as tightly as the lower strap which was barely long enough. Going up in size didn't help as it was just too large and loose. Now, I've been using these while learning to ice skate. Although they are bulky as hell, the protection and cushioning is exceptional and outperform pads costing 3 or 4 times as much. These are the only knee pads I've tried (other than hockey shin guards) that give me full confidence in slamming my bad knees onto the ice without having to worry. I'd rate protection/pain dampening at a 9/10, where 10 would be if I felt nothing at all. I tried lower profile options such as basketball hex foam cushion sleeves (McDavid, Adidas, etc) and non-newtonian/rate sensitive putty MTB style pads (G Form, D3O, XRD, etc), but I had no confidence in slamming to the ice with them on. The basketball sleeves are fine for diving for loose balls and such, but they hurt like hell if you just drop test directly onto your knees from standing. In such case, protection/pain dampening is about a 2 out of 10. The MTB pads are a bit better but can feel inconsistent in its pain dampening depending on how fast you fall. 3 out of 10 if you fall slowly, 5 if you fall fast. It's impressive given how low profile they are, but the KP 22 is the better way to go if you don't care about bulk and want the most protection.

These are my favorite outdoor wheels. I think they are discontinued now along with all my other favorite skating products! It’s crazy. My skates (riedell 125) are discontinued too. I’m going to pounce on any sets of Radar Pures I find out in the world. They are deluxe and I have no idea why they would ever stop making them.
