You usually encounter problems like that when theres an issue with the bake, try setting it to "all"

I'm using this method to create a gatlin gun shooting effect. But the problem I ran into is that when the initial speed gets high enough, the particles start to group into clusters, similar to the problem in the video at 4:30. I assume this is because simulation zone works on per frame basis. When the particle speed is too high, the points generated on each frame start seperate from each other forming into groups. Except in my scene I can't crank up the randomness to blend them together since my emitter is in high speed motion, cranking up the randomness would just scatter the particle all over. Any idea how I can fix this?
@Polycount-tw4ix17 күн бұрын
The solution here is substeps so that particles are simulated multiple times per frame and more can be spawned spread out from each other, to implement this youll want to use a repeat zone in your simulation loop and divide delta time by the number of iterations/substeps

My smoke is very very blurry and I really don’t understand why. Even with higher samples or higher smoke resolution it stays blurry.

Hmm if you have enough resolutiin then maybe try adding a turblunce force or enable noise in the settings to create breakup

I made the spark procedurally in the shader editor, but you could make a simple painted texture and import it on a plane :)

Interesting method! Using an object as a device to control animation is a top idea (beats using the Float Curve which is quite hard to get detail into). I could also see a more 'on/off' pulse curve being used to reset simulations in time to music or something. I'm still not totally convinced of using the For Each loop for these 'Instance like' operations. Is this more or less performant, do you know? Either way, loving your videos mate.
@Polycount-tw4ixАй бұрын
Thanks! its always less performant (alot less) and you could technically pack the cube to an instance before it enters the for each loop, then scale instances, but as its only 6 faces i wasnt bothered. The reason I used for each is to randomly change the animation curve per point, which is impossible with instances, theyd all be referencing the same curve :)

You sir, are a beautiful, beautiful man. I've been working on a paper mario style project for a few months now (2d planes in a 3D world for a short film) and was struggling for the past week to figure out how to get this done. I will include your name in the credits, because there's literally no way I'd have EVER figured this out on my own. Thank you SO MUCH!!!! Question: is it possible to change the color of the extrusion (the sides)? Or maybe a way to at least generally mirror the colors that are coming from the plane? I'll do a bit of digging on my own, but again... dude... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 EDIT: Okay, I was able to use the "Set Material" node (i'm brand new to Geo Nodes) to get the color I was looking for. Still working on the mirroring bit, but this should do for now. Again, thank you! And I'll add another comment when the film is done - this Spring! :D
@Polycount-tw4ixАй бұрын
wow thanks! look forward to seeing your film. Yeah you can set the material on the new geometry, to get it to sample the color of the image at the edge, youd need to store the color attribute on the generated points, and set it to be the image texture, before theyre extruded i think...you may have to transfer the attribute though

Since Blender is a free and open source Software iam not going to complain , but lets be jonest Blender evee raytracing is still slow and quite noisy somtimes , also the cycles basicly cries when u add volumetrics such as fog or volume scatter , but even though there are other apps like UE5 wich are thousand of times faster with lumen and nanite , weather with volumetrics or GI... I belive if blender wants to stay competitive with other apps they should really focus on more performance optimizations for both renderer engines I wish em Good Luck though❤
