I would try to find some to taste before you grow them, but I think you will like them. Once they are ripe, they are so delicious. Very sweet. They are easy to grow but where you live, look for cold hardy varieties such as Chicago Hardy, Olympian, Ronde De Bordeaux, Or Violette De Bordeaux. Good luck with it.

My cows have a built in compost system where they take vegetable waste from food processing that I mix with Grass Straw and they compst and spread it into my pastures.
@patmallon4920Ай бұрын
I've been interested in taking various other products and creating a compost system for our farm though.
@EarlybirdFarmSCАй бұрын
That is true and cow manure is a great compost on your pasture. The only down side and plus to this is they are taking waste and turning it into compost. Like soured soybean meal or coffee grounds, wood chips, bags made from corn by products etc. It is really solving a problem with keeping some of this stuff out of landfills. It is a good thing I believe.
@EarlybirdFarmSCАй бұрын
You should really look into making it. Especially if you have a place where you feed your cows hay, usually they poop and eat in that spot. You could take that and pile it up. Or you could do like Greg Judy and roll your hay out. He says that keeps the cows from trampling on the hay as much and ruining so much. Plus the hay that says improves the soil. You roll it out in different spots each tme etc.
