Unfortunately the American Vintage ii does not have a vintage finish. It's plasticized "nitro" sprayed over a very thick polyurethane finish.

I think you forgot to mention an important detail, which is the G5422 having a maple center block inside the body, while the other guitar is completely hollow body. I hope I'm correct.
@rogergamonКүн бұрын
I think it's actually the G5622 that has the centre block? It's a bit confusing but I think that's the difference: G5422 is fully hollow, G5622 has a centre block.

I think it depends a lot of the shape of your hand and even of the fingers... So the best way is to try different guitars neck shapes to know what is the good one for each of us

Gretsch is a brand that can deliver a $10 guitar that just feels premium. I always loved gretsch because of George Harrison and my first one was an electromatic pro jet with bigsby, since then i bought someting like 6 other guitars and none brought me THAT feeling i had when i first played my electromatic, what a fucking guitar... This year i bought a chet atkins country gentlemen, just like the one george used during the ed sullivan show in 1964 and boy... what a mustang! But i still love my electromatic. The fact is that Gretsch is a underrated brand, people wlays look for Gibsons and Fenders and buy a lot a crap and don't look at Gretsch, i don't know if it's because Gretsch looks like a guitar for playing old tunes or maybe everyone just think that they are too expensive, but gretsch has the REAL rock n' roll sound, filtertrons can deliver you a sound in between a P90 and a Humbucker, and that's the big deal about gretsch. Boy... i love gretsch! PS: I have fenders, epiphones a yamaha and a rickenbacker but still gretsch seems to be a more versatile guitar. By the way, my fender is a telecaster with a filter tron on the neck haha

I have the vintage 2 (bought first) and the Ultra (both maple necks). I prefer the vintage 2 for looks, feel, smell (nitro) sound and case, but the ultra is more playable. The pro 2 is great but now with these two theres no point. I do think that for most of people the pro would be better than vintage and ultra. If its a Tele, I want it regardless!!

An excellent demo and discussion. I prefer the maple fretboard and v-shaped neck of the 57 and the pickups have a great expressive clarity. It would be more contrasted with my other strats as something different (the seafoam green looks great too). But really, I will probably go with the 61 because of the more usable dynamic range of the pickups. That fiesta red looks really good, but it does remind me of creepy radioactive dishes from the time; I'd probably pick that one anyway. Thanks for the additional info.

I bought this guitar over the summer from Sweetwater - it is wonderful! I like it better than my LP Classic. This one has mojo, grind, grunt, and plays like butter - nice thick neck. It stays in tune (reasonably) at gigs, Its light. Feels good to play standing up. Highly recommend!

A further choice is the Ash body on some of the ‘57 Strats.

Guitars must be heard with clean sounds, without overdrive or distortion otherwise your videos, not only yours but all those fixated with effects, are useless

You can’t compare pickups if it isn’t the same guitar. With a strat the maple neck/fretboard is just going to sound different than the rosewood fretboard. These pickups sound different but you can’t get a good judgement using 2 different fretboard woods.
