Regarding Serena Williams in Bey's video: this is a little around the time when there was a huge uproar by people hating on Serena being on the cover of Sports Illustrated Athlete of the year (or decade..I forget). She sat in a royal chair similar to what Bey's in, and wore a black leotard similar too. With her legs draped across the chair's arm. And, a crown. The hateful and toxic things (misogynist and racist) said about her made headlines. In this video she's pretty much dancing and looking good, not being sorry for her getting her flowers and respect. She earned it.

I do hope you listen again on spotify. The album is formatted like a DJ mix so majority of the album transitions into the next song. It’s so cool! and yeah like everybody said, she didn’t get her body done. She had twins but didn’t rush to overwork herself and body trying to get back slim. She lost most of the weight she had preparing for the tour for this album.

If you want a more upbeat and poppy Taylor, try Midnights or Lover. Lover is the album immediately after Reputation, when she was moving on from that darker/angrier time of her life. Midnights comes two albums after Lover, and it’s a reflection upon sleepless nights she’s had throughout her life. They still have great lyrics, but definitely a different tempo. Both albums do have songs with heavy/intense concepts, but they’re not nearly as slow or folksy as Folklore and Evermore, so they’re easier to consume. Btw, Evermore is the sister album to Folklore, so production/vibe is very similar. Taylor said she “never stopped writing”, so she released both albums in 2020. It’s always fun watching people get to know her discography. Thanks for giving Taylor a listen, and an enjoyable reaction! 🫶

Personally, I’ve always thought Becky was Rita Ora. She was on Roc Nation label and rocking a very suspicious J-like chain at the time of the Rachael Ray internet debacle after the elevator incident and kept making these random pics with post & delete cryptic messages.

Honestly, I’ve always thought she was just celebrating & uplifting Serena. They’re friends and there was talk of her retiring. In addition, there’s always been a fringe of racists since both Williams’ sisters debut that spread rhetoric about them both being men, ugly, and almost non-sexual. She’s having fun, displaying her curves and thick thighs, and owning her sexuality.

This album isn't as sad as you think it is. Most of the songs aren't breakup songs even though they may seem like it. Some of the time she is using metaphors. Mirrorball is like a disco ball. How they are made up of broken pieces put back together and show different things as they spin. She means we all have different sides we show to different people. The Last Great American Dynasty is about Taylor's house in Rhode Island. Rebecca who is the main character in the story married an oil barron decades ago. The house is in an "old" money very exclusive part of Rhode Island. Rebecca was wealthy on her own but not "old" money passed down through generations. They are generally raised better with more class. I am talking like over 100 years ago when parties aren't like we have now. Everything was fancy. Rebecca was divorced, a no no back then. The town hated her marrying a person "above" her. She was wild which is unacceptable. The house sat quite for 50 years, "old" people lived there. Taylor then bought the house. She is "new" money and a celebrity so not worthy of living there. Her neighbors were not happy about her moving there. They thought she was going to be having crazy, loud parties things like that. In reality she rarely stays there. She goes there for her annual July 4 party and invites her closest friends, around 10 people. The house is more of an investment.

This and the akbum Evermore are folk albums. That is obviously not your taste. That's cool. We all have different tastes. It is good to try different genres to see if you might like it. You don't know unless you listen.

Taylor is not a dancer and she admits that and we love her for it. 😂 This album is very dark/light. She left the public eye for a year because of the Kim/Kanye drama and everyone coming after her. But during that time she was also falling in love with the guy she was with for 6+ years. So its a pissed off album where shes also head over heals in love. Its truly iconic.

A big part of the reason this album slaps is because of its transitions between songs. Recommend that you listen to the actual album to catch it. It makes the listening experience that much better.

So about Daddy Lessons, yes... Her dad cheated on her mom so he was talking about men like him... Equating that with Jay Z cheating. Also, this song gave birth to Cowboy Carter (which you should honestly react to. I'd like to see your reaction to songs of hers that you don't already know). When she performed Daddy Lessons at the Country Music Awards, she was met with racist remarks. Someone even yelled "get that nigga away from the stage" from the audience. So she decided to do a country album hence Cowboy Carter. I mean, she is country after all.
