Copycat is badass. I love this live version and I think it’s really cool that you reacted to it (you didn’t do anything wrong), though I do agree with the other commenters that the “studio” version is like a different song, just because of the production aspect. I actually listen to both the studio and this acoustic version as though they were different songs, I have them both on my playlist. It’s like this one is a cover. By the artist herself haha

break downnn. ocean eyes: was actually written by her brother, but he thought it was sound better with a female voice singing it so billie did it at 13 yrs old, and posted it on soundcloud which surprisingly went viral. Thats how her career started. copycat: she explained there was this girl who copied everything that she did, but the girl would criticize billie for doing those things, then doing them herself, so she wrote a song about it. idntwannabeuanymore: u got the memo shes basically talking to a reflection of herself. my boy: no hes not sus cus hes fruity lmao.. 😂 the song is about a boy who is overall just toxic, she explains he cant keep relationships, when she says “he aint a man and sure as hell aint honest” shes saying that he is not a man hes a BOY, cus hes simply immature. watch: this song is about a person who she says, “started a fire in her” meaning giving emotional abuse and overall wasnt a good person towards her. She says “ill sit and watch your car burn” meaning the revenge that she sets his car on fire. party favor: party favours are often cheap and pretty, something to be taken home after all the fun has been had, to be enjoyed briefly then to be cast aside. Billie could be saying here that she’s not a toy who obeys every one of her lover’s whims and that she’s not something you can abandon and ignore then come running back to. bellyache: this is a fictional song, billie plays a perspective of an insane person who “lost their mind” bc she had killed all of her friends including her lover. having regret and guilt, following by her “bellyache” but doing it again anyways. hostage: shes basically saying that she wants that person to herself and herself only. she wants to be apart of that person shes with and creating this “obsession”. & burn: the song is just “watch” featuring vince staples. extra - billie was 14-15 when doing this EP, dontsmileatme. she was 16-17 when she did her debut album, wwafawdwg. she was 18-19 when she did her second album, hte. and lastly, she was 20-22 when she dropped her third album, hmhas.
