These 2 sisters appeared in another Clitheroe Kid broadcast. Same Comedy format, as this one but about appearing in a TV advertising campaign. So writers slipped up a bit here. Alfie and Jimmy had definitely met them before. Still, it was very funny and enjoyable. Thanks DJ. 😃

DJ, as a young lad and an avid autograph collector, I was lucky enough to meet Jimmy Clitheroe outside a stage door theatre. Along with other autograph hunters of the same age as me, JImmy took time to laugh and joke with us, signing our books and giving us all a signed photo. Memories eh?

I agree with "Postwar46" below. We had smashing Radio Comedy. I remember all these on the radio: Hancocks Half Hour, The Navy Lark, (Leslie Philips) Round The Horne, (Kenneth Williams & Kenneth Horne) The Glums & Whacko. (both Jimmy Edwards) Rays A Laugh, (Ted Ray) even Steptoe and Son. All great Radio - and Jimmy Clitheroe stands tall (joke) against all of them. Thanks "DJ".

When I was a lad I was an avid autograph hunter. I waited outside the Stage Door of a Theatre with a few other collectors for Jimmy to turn up. As the car pulled up he was sprawled out asleep on the back seat. His friend (the driver) woke him up and he got out of the car. He laughed and joked with us before signing our books and giving us a signed photo each. I have listened to all the episodes in the past and never tire of listening to them over and over again. Danny Ross was a tremendous cast member, as were all the others. Superb casting and Comedy. Thanks for posting these D J, and greetings from Scarborough.

I heard Rosalie Williams play auntie Lily in another episode. She sounds quite different in this one. She sounds more mature + more posh! The episode I have is called "If you can't keep a secret, sell it!" Also, this episode I have has been rewritten + changed a little with some different actors + called "I was a stupid cupid". Hi from Oz. 👇💜🙃

I'm a recent fan, having not heard these shows b4. I absolutely adore them. They are lovely, well written and the actors/comedians are wonderful and so talented. I'm now also listening to heaps of BBC vintage radio comedies Thru my free "BBC sounds" app and having a ball! An Ossie fan. From down under! 👇💜🙃

Thanks DJ Smith. As a recent fan of Jimmy and the show I'm very grateful for yr uploads. I'm just having so much fun. Several yrs ago my uncle gave me a homemade recording of mostly BBC radio comedies on CD. I recently listened to it. Hrs of brilliant stuff + I was an instant fan of this The Clitheroe Kid plus Round the Horne, Biding in the Bush, The Navy Lark, Hancock's Half Hour, The Eric Morecambe + Ernie Wise Show + The Glums to name a few. You + a few others do a wonderful thing for people like me. Recent plus longer time fans. From down under. 👇💜🙃

Hard to believe he was 35 yrs up to 50 yrs of age when doing these radio shows. From 1957 - 1972. He was 4'3''. Apparently a really lovely man who adored + lived with his mum. Quite shy when not performing. He died the morning of her funeral. Accidentally. Sleeping pills + 6 scotch whiskies. I've only discovered + become a keen fan recently. I'm grateful to those who are dedicated to uploading his work, as well as other great vintage radio + TV comedy. An Ossie fan. 👇💜🙃
